Cold, indifferent, doesn’t listen
Cold, indifferent, doesn’t listen, takes no notes, doesn’t remember anything you request, does whatever he wants on the surgery. More troubles after the surgery than when came there. Careless and sloppy in the details. Nurse Pat takes zero interest, only the photographer helps patients, with her zero medical training.

Dr. Toriumi is truly a remarkable surgeon!
After 3 long years (Feb 2019 - Mar 2021) of physical, emotional and financial set backs, consequences of enduring 4 failed rhinoplasty revision surgeries with another surgeon in Los Angeles, I was referred to Dr Dean Toriumi. I initially felt very nervous about seeing a doctor all the way in Chicago and potentially taking the next phase of surgeries and treatments to another city, half way across the country away from my home and family. But, I can honestly say it now that it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Dr. Toriumi has done what seemed impossible - he restored both, the functionality and the aesthetics of my nose in a well balanced and harmonious way. From the very beginning when putting together a multi-step treatment plan that best suited my needs to the timely and ongoing execution of it's every phase, Dr. Toriumi has exceeded all of my expectations, while keeping me feeling heard, informed, and safe along the way.

Revision Rhinoplasty Experience with Dr. Toriumi
I underwent a complex revision rhinoplasty procedure performed by Dr. Toriumi, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Not only did Dr. Toriumi substantially improve my breathing, but he also addressed the complexities of my case with skill and confidence.I initially sought Dr. Toriumi's expertise after other surgeons had declined to take on my case. His reputation as the go-to revision rhinoplasty surgeon preceded him, and I was referred to him by another respected professional in the field. From the moment I met Dr. Toriumi, I felt reassured by his knowledge and willingness to tackle challenging cases like mine.Throughout my journey, Dr. Toriumi's team, including Pat, Bridget, Karen, and Olivia, provided exceptional support and care. They were always available to address my concerns and provide encouragement during the healing process. I cannot recommend Dr. Toriumi and his team enough. Their expertise, compassion, and dedication to patient care set them apart!

Highly Recommend
My visit was for a revision rhinoplasty. I was referred to Dr. Toriumi by two unaffiliated surgeons, as my case was too difficult for them. 3 previous surgeries had left me with a misshapen nose as well as being unable to breathe out of a collapsed nostril. Dr. Toriumi and his staff are responsive and professional. The surgery was lengthy, but pain free. The aftercare was excellent. For the first time in 30 years, I have excellent breathing and facial symmetry. I feel confident and attractive again.

Best Revision Rhinoplasty
I am incredibly pleased with my results and how I continue to heal. I was told there was no fixing my first rhinoplasty by my first surgeon and Dr.Toriumi gave me hope back and the nose I’ve always dreamed of. I can’t recommend his work enough. You’re in trusted hands and he truly cares. In addition, he has the kindest most caring staff that makes you feel loved.

Highly recommended and experienced surgeon
Seven years ago, I decided to explore options for my collapsing nose. Dr. Toriumi was highly recommended on reputable online sites. He recommended an extensive reconstruction due to my numerous issues. I was a bit apprehensive so I also saw an ENT in my regular health care system; his recommendation was identical and he noted that I needed an experienced plastic surgeon to perform this surgery. When I told him I’d visited Dr. Toriumi, he said “Dr. Toriumi is an internationally known surgeon” in this field. I went ahead with the surgery with Dr. T—nasal reconstruction is no joke! Dr. T and his staff provided extremely thorough and constant follow-up care. Now I can freely breathe through my nose and I enjoy an improved visage and profile. The quality of the medical care and follow-up I received was and is impeccable and highly professional but also warm and supportive. I highly recommend Dr. Toriumi, particularly if you have complex nasal reconstruction needs.

Great outcome
Very pleased with outcome after primary rhinoplasty (nose broken in car accident). Very thorough process. Would have loved to have more of an outline of follow up appts, but nose looks and functions as wished.

Completely deformed nose after paying 60k
I was a reconstruction case and was very bad off from multiple open procedures when I went in. He has no clue on how to do a reconstruction. I paid 60k. He wanted more money to revise me when he left me unemployable and extremely deformed. 100 times worse off than when I went in. There was zero after care ZERO. They let me go home without a nurse, never responded when I asked where I could purchase splints. The cheek flap was so bad and left a horrible scar and worse had a pin cushion deformity that he never bother to inform me about (had to find out from another doctor, as well as no lining which he also never informed me about.)I should have gone to a reconstructionist in the first place and he should have referred me out. He was unremorseful, greedy (he asked for more money after deforming me and his surgical plan was exactly the same). He insulted me by calling it a minor revision when I was completely deformed, lashed out at me when I started crying, refused to discuss what went

Best Nose Surgeon!
After many failed nose surgeries, it was well worth the flights to see Dr. Toriumi. He is patient and kind. He is the expert in his field. Every specialist in Atlanta told me he was the only doctor that could fix my collapsed nose. Many of his patients have been hurt by previous doctors and it’s hard for us to trust again. Just because he is a man of few words does not mean he doesn’t know exactly what he’s doing. My nose looked large when the cast came off, but it shrank down over the months exactly like he said it would. I cannot have steroids, so I had to be patient. If you follow his post-op instructions, everything works out like he intended. This is clearly the end of my 6 year nightmare. I can’t speak highly enough about his entire staff! Always professional and I looked forward to my follow up visits. I cannot thank Dr. Toriumi enough!

This Master surgeon healed my broken heart when he gave me the impossible. My nose had been butchered by 3 previous rhinoplasties. It was so damaged before Dr. Toriumi that he needed to perform a 2-stage surgical plan. I have no words for how grateful I am for what he has done to/for me - every day I'm in shock and am overjoyed when I look in the mirror. I lived with the deformed nose since 1990 and never ever thought it would be possible to have what Dr. Toriumi has blessed me with. He is beyond brilliant and I'm so grateful. The effect he's had in my life is enormous and profound. I will forever be grateful.

After a long journey with multiple rhinoplasties that had not gone well, I knew I only had one more chance. I needed a surgeon with a high level of expertise. Dr. Toriumi exceeded my expectations and I am so very grateful for his help. I can finally put this passed me in life and move on. He was able to do exactly what I wanted and needed. If you’re considering Dr Toriumi, he won’t disappoint. Don’t make the mistake of going to someone else, especially if you have had multiple surgeries already. Dr. Toriumi is an expert and the best in his field.

Dean did a secondary Rhinoplasty 10 yrs ago for me. As he likes to tell his patients, it takes 10 yrs for the swelling to go away. Well, a decade later & my nose is still a giant, wide, shapeless HEAVY/UNCOMFORTABLE block on my face. Not to mention the astronomical 30k this “revision” cost me. The best thing Dr. Toriumi had to offer me was “stop eating salt & massage your nose. The swelling will go down” I’ve decided to go see Dr. Calvert to fix Dr. Toriumi’s work. Don’t waste your money on him

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Toriumi to anyone who is having a rhino/septoplastic surgery. Dr.Toriumi actually did my revision as my first surgery by another physician was unsuccessful. I will say that my experience and outcome has been even better than I had hoped. Dr. Toriumi's level of skill and vast experience is why I chose him, and I could not be more satisfied.I can truly say that if I had the opportunity to do it again, I would, and I would not change a thing.Thank you, Dr. Toriumi!
