Best Orthopedic Surgeon hands down!
Thank you for giving our son an opportunity to sprint again! We were instructed about the procedure in extensive detail and were never rushed or hurried. We observed how Dr. Mickelson and his staff delivered the best possible care for our 22 year old son, wonderful bedside manner. He put our mind at ease before and after surgery. We were well informed through the entire procedure and he was mindful to give us a detailed account of what happened during our son’s surgery after it concluded. Don’t look any further if you’re looking for an exceptional orthopedic surgeon…he’s the one! So kind and thoughtful
Really nice office space. Dr Dwayne Mickelson is very kind, and thankfully cautious about surgery. Recommended injections and pt first so my recovery from surgery will go much better. Very thankful’

Areal pleasure working with PROFESSIONALS!
My visit was to see about a very sore left shoulder that didn't seem to be getting better after two week. After some searching and researching orthopedic specialist in our area, my wife found Dr. Mickelson at ProLiant Orthopedics. I'm very glad she did! The entire visit from the receptionist to the nurse, the xray tech, to Dr. Mickelson was one of PROFESSION SERVICE! DR. Mickelson was very thorough and informative, taking the time to explain, with visual displays, the cause of my discomfort. This made both my wife and I confident in his diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan. I would definitely recommend Dr. Mickelson, AND Prolient!

Great bedside manner, very personable
Dr. Michelson saw me at Overlake Hospital when he was ‘on call’ so today was a follow-up visit. Both times, whether an unplanned visit or a scheduled one like today, he took time to look over my injuries to see how I was progressing. In the hospital, he took time to clean a wound since the antibiotics were not working as well as they should, also showing us how to care for it at home. We also decided on PT versus surgery for my torn ACL. I highly recommend Dr. Michelson.

Great surgeon
He reconstructed my left shoulder after a devastating fall, 3 yrs ago. Now I’m back to have him fix the right. That says it all. He’s friendly, witty, caring and smart. Trust his diagnosis and surgery skills.

Excellent Doctor & Care
My visit was about removing of a hardware from a leg surgery from the previous years. The visit was great. Dr. Mickelson (and his team) were prompt, professional, friendly, kind, and caring. He took the time to answer all the questions, explained options, made me feel at ease, and left there knowing what to expect. He did a great surgery the first time. I trust him completely and would recommend him to anyone for their surgery need. He will take good care of you.

I am very pleased with the care you have given me Dr. Mickelson. There is one thing that I wish I would have remembered to ask you. I would like to know if you could look at the x rays and tell me what percentage of the surgical repairs that you did with my rotator cuff repair stayed intact after the episode of the event of my fall down the flight down the stairs. It would be important to me to know about how much of the repair stayed intact. I would really appreciate it.

Rushed, impersonal, not good with youth
Another provider recommended that we have our child see Dr. Mickelson and assured us we would get some answers to an unresolved problem. It took about 3 weeks to get an appointment. We waited for several minutes beyond our scheduled time while Dr. Mickelson "finished up with one other patient," but due to the thin walls, we could tell that he hadn't even seen this other patient yet, and then he did that person's entire visit within 5 minutes before coming to our exam room. Within about 5 minutes, we were also done with our visit, and left with more referrals and no answers. Dr. Mickelson had zero bedside manner. Up until this visit, all the providers my family has seen at this practice showed a sense of humor and warmth. Not this time. Very wooden, no real sense of concern at all, to the point where we felt as if we were possibly imagining the entire problem. Disappointing. We will not come back to see Dr. Mickelson and would not recommend him, especially to younger patients.

Moving forward
I came in very nervous about my knee injury and in a lot of pain. I had undergone various treatments unsuccessfully. Dr. Mickelson reviewed my history and helped me come to a clear decision about my options. I am choosing to have knee replacement surgery and am excited about moving forward and regaining control of my life..
