Dr. D. Suominen is the worst radiologist you can find. How he is still employed is beyond me and everyone I know. He comes across as sweet, soft spoken and caring. But that’s not enough to save lives. He can perform the simplest procedures, but anything complicated, he ruins lives. He couldn’t provide carotid stenting for my brother and gave him a stroke at Presbyterian Denton Hospital. My sister-in-law is crushed, his friends and family are heartbroken. My brother is the smartest guy I’ve even known, I used to call him a walking computer, we all looked up to him. Smart, educated, tall, handsome, successful, we, his brothers, all wanted to be him. And this guy, this so-called doctor, took him away from us. Yet, he went on with his life like nothing happened. What right does he have to continue his practice? How can he be trusted with lives? He shouldn’t be allowed even to treat pets, much less people.

I unexpectedly needed to have a drain tube. I was pretty nervous, but the Dr. was so calming and reassuring. He let me know that if I feel anything just let him know and I would get more lidocaine. There’s was no issue with the tube, I never felt anything. He chatted with me a little through the procedure, just so I wouldn’t focus on the tube being inserted. I would strongly recommend Dr. Suominem for any radiological procedure, there really is no one better to calm your nerves and make you feel comfortable.

Dr. Suominen performed my bone marrow biopsy. I really liked that he took the time to explain every step of the procedure to me before, during, and after. He has a very calming demeanor. I would recommend him to anyone that has to have a biopsy. It is a very scary time in a persons life, and he made it a pleasant experience.

Dr. Souminen is exceptional! I had a routine mammo, Dr. Souminen saw something suspicious. A repeat mammo & breast sono showed microcalcifications, I needed a biopsy. I was never so frightened! However, Dr. Souminen explained to me what he saw & calmed my fears. When the results came back positive for breast cancer, Dr. Souminen was the one who called me with results. I heard regret, sadness in his voice as he explained what I had to do next. Caring & dedicated physician, treated me like family

Be very afraid. Dr. Suominen took upon himself to do carotid stenting on my husband and dislodged the clot into his brain causing a stroke! He failed to use the standard protective measure which would have been simple to apply and which would have greatly reduced the risk of a stroke. What Dr. Suominen did was negligent as he failed to take basic steps to prevent a tragic outcome. We were never told that he wasn’t going to use a filter, it wasn’t in the consent form either. He ruined our lives.

Never again would I have this guy touch me. Reference 12/1/2017 ct cervical spinal myelogram. The pain was excruciating. My husband witnessed this. On a scale of 1 - 10 it was a 20. I have experienced pain in my body(natural childbirth), neck surgery, car accidents. BUT nothing like this. The doctor NEVER talked to us, NEVER a word was uttered to us, before or after. No. Deading the area did not help. Something should have alarmed him to stop the procedure, reconsidering what was going on.
