Many years ago in Omaha,Nebraska I saw Dr. Schmidt. For my bipolar disorder, I have seen several psychiatrists over the years. He was by far the best! Easy to talk to, very friendly and so helpful. My only regret is when he moved out of state, I had to find a new doctor!! My new doctor is great, yet doesn’t compare to Dr. Schmidt!!! I miss him!

Dr. Schmidt is terrific. The appointments are quick, and he is focused on medication management. He was willing to try something off-label that would be less potentially problematic over time, but we ended up sticking with what I was on originally, and we just do quarterly check-ins. He's super direct. Not the cheeriest guy, strikes me as maybe slightly depressed, but it's probably tough seeing depressed people all day long. I found him to be quite kind as well as no-nonsense.

I have been seeing Doctor Schmidt for a few years. My belief is that he is Chestnut's medication prescriber. I was told I should also see a counselor while taking the meds prescribed because Doctor Scmidt was the chemistry component, not the psychologist. Knowing that I have found him to be delightful. Cordial, quick, no nonsense.... so if you need meds, see this man. If you need someone to work out life issues with, see someone else. For meds, he is 5 star.

Dr. Schmidt is an abysmal psychiatrist. He is overtly dismissive of gender/sexuality issues, ignores patient feedback, hastily diagnoses, and doesn't discuss all of the diagnoses with the patient. Moreover, he is virtually unreachable by phone even after multiple messages left. He takes vacation with no notification to patients via any medium. Worst of all, his knowledge of the side effects of different medications and the consequences of discontinuing use verge on malpractice. I would ne

I wouldn’t recommend this Dr to anyone!!! Is very careless with medication he prescribes. When in the medical field you keep your personal & professional business separate... Only spends 10 minutes with his patients. He over prescribes medication keeps adding more meds. to the level our daughter was toxic & develop a heart arrhythmia. When we finally we able to get an appointment for our daughter with a competent Psychiatrist he was appalled how irresponsible Dr Sshmidt is.

Dr Schmidt comes off rather aloof and disenchanted. It took me a good 6 months to warm up to him but he's not a bad man. I've actually gotten him to smile a couple times. He only does medication reviews he does not do therapy and your appointment is 15 minutes. He has never pushed treatments on me I did not want nor medications. I like him he's not my favorite but I don't think he's a bad man! He has the most unfriendly secretary ever who's disposition is beyond unpleasant!

Dr. Schmitt is an arrogant, egotistical, and antagonistic person. He is unknowlegable and a horrid diagnostician. In addition to being totally clueless. He did not take a Hippocratic Oath, he took a hypocrite oath.

I had Dr. Schmidt for several months, maybe half a year, as my Psychiatrist, and I have to say that I entered his office with skepticism. Usually my gut is right when it comes to whether or not a psychiatrist is going to be good for me / is qualified according to his degrees and experiences. I should have trusted my gut. First and foremost, he seems ultimately bored every time you enter his office or call him; he doesn't seem caring at all. I don't doubt that he knows extensive details about som

Dr. Schmidt is overall a caring and compassionate doctor. He is cautious about the meds he prescribes so it may be frustrating to try and find the right ones when you first see him. I think he takes a good approach to treating mental health issues and he is not afraid to try off label treatments if the patient reacts badly to other medication. Even though he can seem stoic at times, I get the feeling he is genuinely concerned with his patients well being.

I've been a pt of his for yrs I have had my struggles with him but he is so easy to talk to in my opinion! I've always been very straight forward with him and he always has a plan as to what we should try next. He has not pushed high doses of meds on me. He saw me through my pregnancy as well, and very rough times. I have recommended him to others and still enjoy him as my provider

My experience with Dr. Schmidt has been nothing but positive. I hold the bar high, too. I can be tough on doctors - maybe my expectations are sometimes too tough. I feel fortunate to be under his care. I am confident in his diagnosis and treatment plan for me - absolutely. I would not only recommend him, ....I would recommend him highly. He doesn't waste time. He follows through. He is clear and concise. And not that this matters, but I have never had to wait a long time in his waiting r

I would not recommend having anyone go an d see this doctor. Especially since every time I went he had to ask Why are we doing this again? It seemed that he never kept notes up to date and his first solution was to try a high dose drug that I most certainly did not need to be on. Also our appointments were supposed to last around a half an hour, they only ended up being 15 minutes or less.
