Saved my life
22 years ago, I came to Mayo clinic with a very large AVM (arterial vascular malformation in the right hemisphere of my brain. I suffered from debilitating headaches almost all of my life. Thanks to Dr. Pinegrass's steadfast patience of an 18 hour surgery, he not only saved my life, but cured my headaches permanently. I owe my life to Dr. Piepgras.

November 17, 1993. My local doctor said that my left internal carotid needed repairing but he didn't have the skill and didn't know who did. However, he had seen a seminar of one of Mayo Clinic doctors performing a similar procedure. I was refered to Dr. Piepgras. The complete Mayo Clinic experience was very professional. I realized the doctors are on the cutting edge in their fields. In my opinion, Dr. Piepgras is at the top. Thank you Doctor.

Dr. Piepgras repaired my large brain aneurysm in 2009. I found him to be kind, caring, empathetic and extremely knowledgeable. I knew in his hands I'd be safe - and I was. He is the finest doctor I've ever seen.

After reading previous reviews, I was not hopeful about a consult Dr. Piepgras. However, I found him to be friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. I would not hesitate to have a consult with him again if necessary.

I would NOT recommend this doctor to anyone. He is not caring and in fact made a point to be very rude. He laughed at me and said "Its all in your head." He would not make any recommendations or treatment options. VERY disappointed that Mayo clinic has this man on staff.

I will never recommend this doctor to anyone! He was very uncompassionate and had no desire to help us. Made a point to tell us he was retired. Why is he seeing patients in need then?? We drove 9 hours for him to tell us it would be at least 2 weeks for him to try to do anything.
