DO NOT LET THIS MAN DO YOUR SURGERY
He and Dr. Susan fix made my mom go through unnecessary pain and multiple surgeries. She was given no pain medication during surgery and has sever permanent vision loss after they performed surgery on her. He should loses his medical license. If you are looking for a great neurosurgeon go with Dr. He in anchorage.

Dr Paulson is best doctor I’ve seen in years! When I first saw him a month ago I wasn’t able to walk without horrific pain. He did surgery 2 weeks ago on my back & now I’m able to without ANY pain! I feel so free! I can oversee my grandchildren & walk my dog! Dr. Paulson is very professional and explains everything! I would recommend him to everyone!

Dr. Paulson has been generous with his time and patience. I saw Dr. Paulson several times before my first fusion. So there would be minimal intrinsic doubt, I followed up with a second opinion at OPA. The ideas were similar, but went with Dr. Paulson. Long story short, the first L4/5 was great, but was not enough. I respect that he was conservative with the first surgery per my request. Now I am looking at a more invasive surgery and am certain that Dr. Paulson is the best choice. His credentials are stellar, he does not have a cut and dry approach, but designed surgeries in the way an engineer does. Creative, open minded, but will put his foot down too. Best of luck to all who are facing surgery in any aspect

He was very thorough in explaining what was going on in my aged mothers back and although surgery could help, he did not recommend it at her age if the symptoms were bearable for her. He showed us the pins and screws that would be used to highlight how major this surgery would be.

Dr. Paulson treated me with a neck fusion and left me with damage to my arm and trouble swallowing after my surgery. He said I needed a fusion but after I got a second opinion I was told the surgery was not even needed. He made it seem like the surgery was an emergency. He seemed nice at first but when was very rude to me and my wife when I asked my I couldn't move my arm after surgery and made it impossible to follow up with him. I think he has been avoiding us. Overall I really regret seeing him.
