Very friendly, provided the time I needed to explain my MS journey, listened, reviewed my brain MRI and explained my treatment options, and recommended treatment plan. Very knowledgeable about MS and current treatment options. I would highly recommend Dr. McCoy.

My daughter referred me to Dr. McCoy and spoke highly of him. At my appt he was very rude, very impatient and anytime I tried to talk or ask questions he would just talk over me. My daughter was very disappointed and embarrassed that he could be even speaking to me in the manner and tone of voice he was using. She said it was as if he was a completely different Dr that she had seen. He just kept telling me the problem was that I had low blood pressure and that everything else looked just “fine” even though I am obviously having abnormal symptoms that only started after experiencing a very serious fall. I will be letting my primary Dr (whom is our local family doctor and I have been seeing for several years) to NEVER refer anymore of her patients to him.

Disappointed
I assign one star because if asked about recommending Dr McCoy or not, I would explain my disappointment but also note that my wife has had very positive experience. Following EEG and EMG testing, I complained to the staff behind the window. i about lack of communication, that unknowingly I had been left with a mess on my scalp and forehead and upper chest area, then left to clean up myself and told that a shower at home would remove it. Admittedly I was a bit upset but with controlled emotion., then sat down. The Dr then came out and said, “You’re done. I can’t have you harassing my staff” and I was dismissed from the practice, even after an initial diagnosis of a likely brain tumor, from his previous ordered testing. Other reviews raise valid questions. I can only vouch for my limited experience, coming to terms even a week later with having been accused of harassment after simply expressing concern over a communication issue. In other respects he may be an excellent neurologist.

Dr. McCoy was excellent.
I didn't have any trouble at all. He was friendly, outgoing, and never gave me the slightest hint that he didn't care about my well being.

Excellent experience
I am a new patient with Dr. McCoy. I expected a months-long wait for the initial visit, as is common with neurologists, but his office got me in within two weeks. The front staff was approachable and friendly, and his nurse was so kind. I came with notes from my previous doctor, but to my surprise, Dr. McCoy had already accessed and read them. He was fully prepared for the appointment. I felt heard and respected. He clarified my misunderstandings and gave me all the information I needed. After reading the reviews online I wasn't sure what to expect, but now I can wholeheartedly recommend him.

Misdiagnosis
Is not interested in treating patients. He only cares about making money off injections as a band-aid instead of prescribing medication to help with the issue. Will tell you that your symptoms are in your head when in reality, your symptoms are proven valid, and you have a significant condition that affects your quality of life, and no matter how many shots won't correct or help with your condition.

This guy is a joke!
I do not know how to describe this doctor visit. The doctor was rude, uncaring and totally arrogant. He talked down to us and had zero empathy. How he is still practicing is beyond me. My wife presented with several conditions including CRPS, nerve pain, back pain and several other conditions. He barely paid any attention to what we said. My wife while in pain was still asked to bend over, take off her shoes and knee length socks, without trying to help her. Then proceeded in the exam to hit her CRPS leg with a rubber mallet to get a reflexive reaction & claimed he knew all about CRPS. HE DOES NOT. if he knew anything about it he would have asked where it hurts before hammering on her. He’s a total idiot. He tried to render a diagnosis which we had never heard of before, said he couldn’t explain it in plain language, as if we were stupid. He proposed a test to her which she can not undergo because of her pain. He stood up, yelled I can’t help you, stormed out & slammed the door!

Do not go to this doctor. I have never been treated so rudely. Arrogant and difficult to communicate with. He left the office angry and slammed the door. Nurse was also rude.

He gives honest and direct answers and opinions. If he doesn't know the answer, he will tell you that he doesn't know. I greatly appreciated his honesty. He doesn't waste your time with fluff and gets right to the point. Some people obviously do not want direct and honest answers.

The entire time I could feel him thinking "This person is a waste of my time and I rather be anywhere else." I have heard from multiple people say poor things about his listening skills and his investigative skills for an appropriate diagnosis, I agree with their criticisms. It bothers me he charges people out of their hard earned money for his lack of attentiveness and clear disliking for what he does for a living. How he can improve: Smile, listen, understand, be humble, be appreciative
