From my very first visit and up to my two-week visit, Dr. Marcu was very professional, thorough and informative. Talked in a level that we could understand in detail. Iam very pleased with the outcome so far.

There is no other way to say it, I am deeply grateful when the best comes to me and incredibly fortunate that it so often does. Dr. Marcu is not only the best there is as an orthopedic surgeon, he is also a remarkable human being. Attentive, present, perceptive, and responsive are not always words that someone uses to describe their surgeon but they are the first that come to mind when I think of Dr. Marcu. He is a true healer. Through rotator cuff repair of each of my shoulders and arthroscopic knee surgery, he has supported my return to optimal health. I am more than delighted to have been his patient and highly recommend him if you are in need of orthopedic care.

Seven months ago I had a total knee replacement done by Dr. Marcu. I am very happy with the outcome and his professionalism. All of my questions were answered and I was well prepared for this surgery.

I’ve seen Dr. Marcu for several years. He’s done one knee replacement for me, and I’ve got another in my future. While he seems competent I always felt his communication skills lacking. Primarily no personality or bedside manner. This is isn’t required in a physician, but sure nice to have. Recently my husband has been seeing him for a shoulder issue. He is extremely difficult to get scheduled with and seems to have junior staff work with you as much as possible. His lack of caring at the most recent visit was extreme and shocking. He ended the appointment by telling him he doesn’t meet the practices criteria for health history and need to seek treatment elsewhere. Then he got up and walked out. No goodby, no wish you the best, no sorry we can’t help you, no post visit summary. Just walked away. He’s now lost two patients.

Dr. Marcu did a phenomenal job with my labrum repair in September 2022. It was a tricky diagnosis as my tear was behind my shoulder; it had completely incapacitated my right arm after 2 years of dealing with the injury. Thought it was perhaps a rotator because of the consistent deterioration after a traumatic event, and Dr. Marcu explained we wouldn't really know the full extent of the injury prior to the surgery. It turned out to be the labrum, but I also had floating cartilage that had ripped off the bone, causing some of the 9/10 pain I was experiencing. Dr. Marcu successfully removed the cartilage and performed microfracture surgery along with the labrum repair to help build new cartilage and put me in the best position for 100% recovery. It was simply a smashing success. Now 15 weeks after surgery, I have already gained 90% overall mobility and am 10x stronger than I was prior to surgery. Dr. Marcu helped me so much this week. After 2 years, my knee wasn't bending enough to bike, and I was thinking of giving up. When I asked for his assurance that I could get it bending, he not only affirmed it, but recommended I purchase extra large mountain bike pedals with 1/8 tacks that would allow we to get some twerk even if my foot was angled downward. It WORKED! I am overjoyed to ride again. $58 later, and I can put my foot flat to work on stretching it or let it point downward when I need a break. Thank you, Dr. Marcu! You are the best. (The guys at the Sports store were impressed.)

Dr. Marcu is straight forward and honest when discussing the procedures. He is friendly and conveys a feeling of care for his patients. I have had a hip and knee replaced in the last year and am so glad that I have had Dr. Marcu perform the operations. i wouldn't want anyone else to perform this type of surgery or go any where else.

I tried everything possible to avoid a shoulder replacement but when I was no longer able to do or enjoy doing too many things without pain, I contacted Dr Marcu. Having worked with him for many years with my shoulder issues and having always been given thoughtful and sound advice, I felt confident when he suggested it was an appropriate time to replace the shoulder. Although not looking forward to the recovery time, I agreed after the process and expectations were very clearly laid out for me by Dr Marcu. From start to finish everything was courteously and professionally handled by Dr. Marcu and the staff at Orthopedic Associates and Sauk Prairie Healthcare; they were all nothing short of amazing! I saw Dr. Marcu for severe arthritis in my right hip. After an exam I scheduled a replacement with no pressure from Dr. Marcu. About 8 weeks later Dr. Marcu examined my other hip. After a very honest, caring visit I scheduled a bilateral hip replacement. Dr. Marcu is an incredible listener and answers any questions you have. He gives you the options and is great at letting you be comfortable with the decision he lets YOU make. June 10, 2021 I had surgery to replace both arthritic hips. I could not have written a script for recovery to go this well, as I am only 7 weeks post op. Dr. Marcu has found what he was put on this earth to do. I can't say enough good things about his skill as a surgeon and a physician The same can be said for each of the staff that attended me during my stay at the hospital. All were INCREDIBLE!!! I would recommend Dr. Marcu and his entire staff without hesitation and have already done so.

I had a total knee replacement. I was happily surprised at every turn. It was a wonderful experience for me. I was so worried I'd be having to have some take of me and that wasn't the case. No real pain, the Pt people were great also. Thank you, I can do yard work again, walk and even sit and stand up no pain. Stairs no problem!

Dr. Marcu did my hip replacement surgery and I couldn't be happier. My recovery was wonderful ! I highly recommend him. He is also very personable and will make you feel very comfortable. His staff and everyone at the Hospital from the moment I arrived for my surgery were wonderful I can't thank them enough for making my short stay after surgery as comfortable and pleasant as they could.

Dr. Marcu performed surgery on my shoulder & i was completely satisfied. The entire staff was great. The recovery was very fast with minimal pain. I highly recommend Dr. Marcu.

I contacted Dr. Marcu's office to inquire about having him take on my shoulder problem through VA community care due to all surgeries with the VA were cancelled due to COVID. They said they would and, a week later the VA had it set up with their office and 2 weeks later, I saw Dr. Marcu. The first visit we scheduled a tentative date, approx a month later for the surgery and began all the pre-surgical stuff. The entire time Dr. Marcu and his office kept me up to date with the entire process and prepared me for the day of surgery. The surgery went great and now 6 months after the surgery, my shoulder feels better than it has in over 15 years. I could not thank Dr. Marcu, his staff, and the Sauk Prairie surgical staff and nurses enough for all the care they gave me. Their skills in what they do are amazing. If you are looking at having a shoulder replacement done, I highly recommend Dr. Marcu and the Sauk Prairie Hospital.

DR.Marcu and the sauk prairie hospital in general is amazing. I would highly recommend him and this hospital to anyone who is in need of a joint replacement. Very professional and very good at what they do. I was terrified about my hip replacement surgery but now that it is over I am so glad that I did it. I was up and walking right after surgery and my pain was instantly gone. I was expecting a large scar from the incision but seriously it is no longer than my finger. Amazed that they could do what they did with such a small incision. the staff at the hospital was very good and kind the nurses were all very friendly and the whole process before and after surgery was very smooth

Fantastic - I had both of my hips replaced by Dr. Marcu. The first couple of days after surgery were tough, but then nothing but speedy recovery. I feel better than I have in a long time. I highly recommend him and his team. Nothing but professionalism, and they really know their craft. You will be well taken care of!

A friend that works with Dr Marcu recommended him. 40 years old and making a decision to have a full hip replacement mentally wasn’t easy for me. Owning a business that solely relies on my body and performance made it tuff to make that decision. My first appointment with Dr Marcu, I felt welcomed, relieved, and excited to have the procedure done. Everything was explained very well. The whole experience, from surgery beginning, to being wheeled out was superb. The staff has it down right, the food was great, and service 1st class. Everyone makes you feel at home. I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about the treatment that I received not only from Dr. Marcu, but the entire staff of Sauk Prairie Hospital/Clinics. I was treated kindly and respectfully by everyone there. I highly recommend this clinic. My meniscus repair went smoothly, and I was walking around safely and comfortably by post-op day one.
