Extremely uncaring staff

In January 2023, I waited 3 months to have a video appointment with him, during the 45 minutes appointment, his nurse asked me questions for 40 mins. and left me 5 minutes to talk to him.Colonoscopy and EDG was scheduled for July 2023, a week before the procedure, his staff said that he's on vacation in July and have to postpone my procedure to October , 2023.In October, his staff called again and said that he'll be in a conference and have to postpone my procedure to January 2024.I called my insurance to talk to them, because they are supposed to follow rules and regulations, they can't keep on postponing my procedures.My insurance called them 3 times and the manager would not return the call. My insurance said that everything is documented, and sent me a letter to verify this.So, you can decide whether you want to deal with this doctor and his staff.

Dr. Kunkel is an incredible physician! He has outstanding fund of knowledge, caring and warm bedside manner, and professional demeanor. He is a leading expert in motility. I have seen many gastroenterologists in the past but Dr. Kunkel is a true gem!

The Best
Dr. Kunkel is the absolute best Gastro Dr I have ever been to and I’ve been to several. He listens, cares and always thinks outside of the box. I never have to worry about follow up appointments. He is alway right on top of everything regarding my care. I am so grateful for his guidance.

Exceptional
Dr. Kunkel is an amazing physician!!! He is knowledgeable, caring, and personable. He has the ability to take complex concepts and break them down into understandable morsels, all while making sure I understand every step of the process. He listens extensively, truly cares about this patients, and presents a gradient of options. I am thoroughly impressed and cannot thank Dr. Kunkel for his depth of expertise and guidance. He is one in a million!

Dr. Kunkel thoroughly explained my results to me and answered all of my questions. He is a very kind, compassionate doctor who listened to my concerns and volunteered to share my results with another doctor I'm consulting with. He went above & beyond. He's one of a kind.

Dr. Kunkel is the best gastroenterologist I ever came across in my entire life time. He listens carefully to the patient's needs. His responses are very logical. The notes are taken. I always know what are the next steps and all is well informed so. And he always is able to get behind even the most complex health issues. Taking the whole patient story into consideration. He's the most wonderful GI doctor.

He does not listen to your concerns. He is not sympathetic. He does not read through your chart to determine your relevant procedures that has been done. He refuses to network with my diabetic doctor for his recommendation. This was after I've already spoken to me doctor. He simply orders multiple diagnostic procedures instead of taking about treatment options. He has very poor patient bedside manners.
