Dr. David Kroessler, MD

Dr. Kroessler has been extremely helpful to my husband for his severe anxiety. He keeps in touch with him regularly and always follows up to see if he needs an RX refill.

After trying to reach him for over a week, he advised me to completely and immediately stop taking a med that I'd been on for years. I told him that I felt terrible even after missing one dose. He insisted that it didn't need to be tapered, so I stopped. I ended up in the ER with severe withdrawal that required an overnight stay and constant monitoring.

Prescribed me all kinds of medicine that made me sick didn't care about interactions or any of my concerns he is literally dangerous

I’ve just finished my fourth appt. with Dr. Kroessler. I’ve suffered from what I thought were horrible panic attacks for 11 years. After all these years I’m finally off my Xanax which I never thought was possible! I find him very helpful and he thinks outside of the box! If you want a Dr. to help you , you must be forthright and disclose everything. He always listens and answers all my questions! Don’t hesitate best choice I’ve made in years!

I saw Dr. Kroessler for 12-18 months. He was terrible. Mean, smarmy, inconsiderate, short, just horrible. I was going through a depressive episode and his treatment wasn't making me any better, but he was so horrible to talk to, I just gave up, and suffered for months and months before I got up the energy and will power to find a new psychiatrist. A terrible man. One woman had to bring her husband in with her to put up with Kroessler.

Runs late. Doesn't listen, then hustles client out the door. Not recommended. We're looking for someone new as I type.

He is horrible. Does not take time to know you at all. Cancels appointments for over a month. Removes prescriptions without tapering. Unavailable and denied refill of Rx that is very dangerous to stop taking immediately. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

absolutely horrible don’t waste your time

Dr. Kroessler seems to have no concerns for his patient's wishes. After being prescribed medication from another doctor at ANGELL STREET that left, they moved me to Dr. Kroessler who then tells me he does not believe in prescribing that medication and wants me to stop taking it, then come back weeks later to be re-evaluated by him. I was upset, the medication is working very well for me. He says well you need to find another doctor then, I don't prescribe that. Ok, you lost a patient.

Dr. Kroessler is one of the worst psychiatrists I've ever seen. He is arrogant, dismissive, uninformed, and does not listen. Please PLEASE do not put yourself in Dr. Kroessler's care. He is dangerously inept. (The only good thing about him is his administrative assistant Jacob: during a recent psychiatric emergency of mine, I called the office needing help w some paperwork and Jacob was vastly more thoughtful, kind and professional than the doctor will ever be.)

I am so happy I made the change to see Dr. Kroessler! He listens to me, if I suggest something he will tell me if he thinks it's a good idea if not he will let me know why. Best psychiatrist I have had! I had to call once do to an episode and he personally called me and spoke to me. So reassuring.

This practice is a minority of psychiatrists in Providence who take different insurance companies. Plan on being in a busy urban medical practice with a bit of a wait. However, once in Dr Kroessler’s office he gets down to brass tacks. He’s not keen on drugs such as Klinopin so do plan on taking a more robust dose of anti-anxiety meds. The parking is horrible and I had to park on the street a couple blocks up which is a pain when it’s cold or in a heat wave.

Dr. Kroessler was very arrogant And didn’t listen to a word I was retelling him. He took me off Klonopin cold turkey, and refused to prescribe anything for anxiety besides SSRI’s which I told him don’t work. I tried many of the SSRIS over the years with horrible side effects and worsening anxiety. He also is diagnosed my ADHD, stating I was dealing with just anxiety . Worse doctor ever. Makes you feel like he is way above you....Very Arrogant...

Dr. Kroessler really made an impact on my health. I was struggling with multiple physical and mental issues and he was able to tweak my treatments and I am starting to feel like myself again. Just by talking to him you can tell how knowledgeable he in in terms of psychiatry. I see some negative reviews and I have to assume that a lot of people would not like his blunt approach but I personally appreciate that kind of help.

Wish I read the reviews before going to Dr Kroessler . Three visits and I will be leaving this Doctor !

Dismissive, arrogant and unprofessional. An extremely traumatic experience.

I went in to see dr kroessler for my checkup appointment.he asked me if I was retired early. I explained to him ive been going thru my condition for 16 years now and it doesnt seem to be getting any better. Ive been in and out of the hospital recently and yet he doesnt see that. i honestly do not think he knows anything about psychiatry. you just cannot talk to this guy without him looking and talking to you like you are an idiot. he doesnt seem to care about his patients. stay far away

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone! He is so full of himself! I was weaning off benzodiazepines because I did not want to take this medicine anymore, the weaning went fine but when I told him of the increase in anxiety he attributed to the weaning process. I had no problem weaning, just increased anxiety, severe weight loss and ended up in the hospital 3 times. I have been in healthcare for 30 years and I have never seen such an inadequate provider, research, don’t go on a recommendatio

He was recommended by mother's PCP to evaluate new onset of delusions and hallucinations post stroke and multiple other medical issues. He didn't ask her about any of the referral info from the PCP, didn't ask her about any of the details of her delusions or hallucinations and didn't listen to any information provided by the family. He saw her several times for less than 15 minutes each time with NO improvement and NO assistance. Needless to say, we switched psychiatrists. NEVER go to him.

I have never worked with a more unprofessional psychiatrist than Dr. Kroessler. For every appointment, he was 20-30 minutes late. One time he was 40 minutes late. He also rushed all of our appointments. One appointment was a little over 3 minutes long. He never made me feel like he cared about me or my treatment and I always left our sessions feeling like he was not listening to me. Please consider seeking treatment from another psychiatrist.
