The Cedar Knolls office was particularly unprofessional. The walls in the exam rooms were chipping and dirty. Exam table was against a wall and door facing away from the computer, nurse and then doctor. They looked at the screen while not even looking at me. Dr.James was referred as a cardiac specialist. My heart was constantly racing, short of breath and feeling horrible. He never ran any blood work which w/have showed the very basic reason why I felt that way. He ordered a bunch of scans, bum rushed me to the scheduler (who was verbally worried about getting out of there by 4pm -didn't know how to spell some medical terms-asked me). His off never sched follow up. Newton office for some tests, was UP a spiral two story staircase (really? for cardiac patients). The tech there was wonderful, which is why I gave this 2 stars. After multiple scans 4 wks & NO bloodwork, husband rushed me to ER. I was diagnosed within 45 minutes, b/c blood tests, hmg level was 4.5 (12-15 normal)

Recommended by our General Practitioner
Dr. James was recommended to us by my family physician with whom I have a tremendous amount of respect. This was my first encounter with a Cardiac specialist. I could not be more pleased. I am pleased with his background and history found on Healthgrades. I respect my GP's previous recommendations so there was no reason to second guess this selection. Yes, I am pleased with Dr. James. His knowledge, demeanor, pleasant tone and interaction. Dr. James listens to everything that has to be said and comments accordingly. He does not rush you or make you feel like a number. I feel like he genuinely cares about my condition.

I went to Newton Hospital early Monday morning, 3/ 28 for chest pains. Dr. James performed a procedure to check for blocked arteries, and found 2 blockages. I also had 2 heart attacks while there and Dr. James was EXTREMELY involved in my care. Honestly, when I saw him each time, I kind of relaxed knowing he was making the decisions. I then was transferred to Morristown Medical to have stents installed by Dr. James on Tuesday, 3/29. He is honestly the BEST!!!!!

Although I met Dr. James under an emergency situation (heart attack with 100% coronary artery blockage), his ability to give it to me straight and perform the procedure quickly was only surpassed by his awesome office visits which left no question unanswered. His knowledge of new procedures and medicines is also above and beyond what I would have asked for in a cardiologist. I only gave him 5 stars because there isn't a 10 to give him.
