Insurance more important than Patient
Horsely is great if you need a basic check up. Past that you might as well call your insurance company and ask what’s wrong. I got a 5 minute lecture about the importance of following insurance protocols. Seriously? After getting worse and worse, multiple suicide attempts, and you give me a lecture about moving slow and keeping insurance happy. I’ll pay out of pocket if it means finding the problem. Finally went elsewhere last summer and immediately and got a doctor who seemed to care about my problems and not licking the boots of IHC and Select Health protocol. He’s a slave to the insurance companies. I’m writing this now because in hindsight I was treated atrociously. I just figured you always listen to your doctor. Don’t.

Dr. Horsley has lost his edge. He used to be top drawer, but he seems to have lost his enthusiasm for medical practice. I have to agree with the other reviewer that his medical assistant is not doing him any favors. She seems to repeatedly delay getting referrals to specialists, and makes the entire process very cumbersome and difficult. She the communications channel between the patient and the doctor, and is not reliable in that role. Messages are not always relayed in a timely manner, and phone calls sometimes go unanswered.

I always feel like I'm talking to a computer at my doctor visits. He's very aware of what to not say to avoid litigation and has stated to me that is what is important to him. He memorizes and quotes statistics and is always in a big hurry. He's not interested in me as a person, getting to the root cause of problems, or "thinking outside the box." His staff is HORRIBLE at getting referrals to my insurance company to see other physicians. I have to remind them every time of what to do. I'm done!
