Dr. David Hawkins, DO

Dr. David Hawkins is a gentle, sensitive, caring bilingual primary doctor at Scripps Clinic in Santee, CA. He has been my primary for nearly ten years. He is absolutely a good listener even for an old woman who can complain of new aches and pain as I grow older. Dr. Hawkins has been wonderful in providing me with referrals as we feel necessary. A 5 star doctor.

I have been seeing Dr. Hawkins for 12+ years. He's probably the best Dr. I have had the pleasure of seeing. He listens very well and spends plenty of time with me. He seems to genuinely care about his patients. I moved to San Marcos about 3 and a half years ago so now I have to drive roughly an hour each way but to me it's worth it even though I have many Dr's 5 minutes away from me. I see a few people saying he doesn't like to treat the elderly but I'm 68 and I don't have any issues. His staff are always very helpful and friendly. I have back problems so I don't know how much longer I can keep driving down there but when the day comes that I can't I will definitely miss visiting him and I hope I can find someone half as good as he and his staff are. PS. They conveniently have a Laboratory and Xray machine in there office. Easy parking right in front of the office and 3 handicap spaces 20 feet from the front door and there isn't one stair in sight.

Most conscientious physician I've ever experienced, supported by a very friendly and efficient staff. The staff calls you when they say they will, and help with any billing or scheduling issues decisively. Dr. Hawkins actually listens - genuinely listens! He will bring up issues not on any chart, but that are part of your life. Can't say enough positive things about Dr. Hawkins and the incredible staff he has assembled.

No better listener and solutions available. Dr. Hawkins in the best and most genuinely concerned physicians I've ever experienced - in 50+ years. Super friendly & efficient staff. Minimal wait for blood work - even without an appointment. Dr. Hawkins spends a much time with you as you require, and the time is well spent listening and concluding with pertinent and quality solutions.

DR. Hawkins did not seem interested with my issues. He is not a doctor for older Americans. He is a sports medicine doctor. I left at the urging of another of my doctors. If you are over 50, don't waste your time. Hold times on the phone was any where fro 8, 12, or 16 minutes. I hung up after being on hold several times.

Dr. Hawkins cares about what's going on with you. His office staff is friendly and thorough. Consider yourself in good hands if you choose him as your primary care doctor.
