WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO "DO NO HARM"?
My 95-year-old mother went to Dr. David Halstead to have her toenails trimmed. She was using a walker and was accompanied by her care-giver, who relayed these details to me. The doctor rushed in, prematurely, and began rapidly clipping away -- "chop, chop, chop", as the care-giver described it. During this process he badly cut one of her toes. When the care-giver reacted to all the blood, Dr. Halstead said: "It's OK; she's used to it." (He had cut a toe of hers once before.) Before he was finished, he cut a second toe on her other foot. Such careless disregard for my mother's comfort -- and eventual safety -- was truly appalling. For the next FIVE weeks she had to endure INTENSE PAIN in both of those toes, which greatly increased the risk of her falling. What ever happened to "DO NO HARM"? She will NEVER go to Dr. David Halstead again.

Arrived on time for my appt. (8:45 am) did not see the Dr. until 45 mins. later. He spent less than 10 mins. in discussion with me. His nurse likewise did not ask many questions about my pain issues, she was distracted by having to leave the room to help the Dr. with another patient. Dr. did not give me a satisfying solution to my issues. I basically felt like he was blowing me off as though my problem wasn't serious enough for him to treat. I will be getting a second opinion.

In town on vacation from KC and got a piece of glass lodged in my foot. It was literally looking for a needle in a haystack as stuff like that is notoriously hard to find. Dr Halstead was able to locate it in about 5 min and the shot to numb didn't hurt a bit. Great skill and bedside manner....I should know, I'm a family physician. If I practiced here, I would definitely send all my patients to him.

I have been very pleased with the care I received by Dr. Halstead. He took a lot of time with me going over my options, without trying to talk me into anything. He just gave me the facts. Later, post surgery, his follow-up care was excellent.

My 88 year old dad was "forgotten" in the waiting room after checking in early for his appt. Only when staff were leaving for lunch did they discover him. They asked him to come back after lunch but he cold not due to other obligations in the afternoon. After a 50 mile round trip he did not get measured for his diabetic shoes and remains in pain thanks to the nincompoops in the office. I guess their lunch was more important than him. Auwe...
