L51 SURGERY
DR Garrett is probably the best surgeon Ive ever seen, the painful part is getting referred to him from the VA, the VA will say theres nothing wrong with you but when you get to see DR Garrett he explains your issues and offers suggestions, makes you feel like your part of the fix , unlike the VA who has a NP reading your MRI, but doesnt know how to tie her shoes. this has happened to me twice now. sad state of affairs at the VA

Referral
I was referred to Dr Garrett from the VA. I was diagnosed with Degenerative Scoliosis in Dec of 2021. My appt was scheduled for 1020, Dr came in exam room at 1145. Before Dr arrived, the nurse came in 45 mins after she did her exam to ask if I needed anything and that the Dr was reviewing my file. When 30 more minutes passed, still no Dr, nurse asks, “if I am ok?”, I respond “yes” she says, “would you like some water?” No “thank you” I replied. Dr comes in 15 minutes later, sits down with his arms crossed and asks me “ what are you doing here?” I did not know how to respond to that. If he was “reviewing” my file, he should have known. Dr was dismissive and generally unprofessional. Spent a few minutes with me, I was flustered and a bit upset. I have contacted the Community Care rep for me and asked to be referred to another provider.

Dr. Garrett is the very best neurosurgeon. He fixed my back when I had gone to numerous doctors in the Rio Grande Valley where I live and in Houston. They all said that my back issue could not be fixed. I looked up doctors in S&W, and chose Dr. Garrett. He knew right away that is was possible to repair my condition. After he performed the surgery and repaired my back it was amazing! I no longer had any pain, and I was back to living a normal and wonderful life. I highly recommend Dr. David Garrett, Jr.!
