Kid Fat-Shamer
It's been some years, but I saw Dr. Crudo back in 2017-2018 when I was a teen with subclinical hypothyroidism a few years ago. I had gained 11 lbs. that year because, again, I had subclinical hypothyroidism that no one would treat because my TSH was only lightly elevated.I'll never forget how he remarked, 'You gained 11 pounds in one year! What happened?' as though he was making fun of me. I was an insecure 17 year old girl and having him rag on my weight like that bruised my ego so badly, I proceeded to starve myself and induce my own vomiting for the subsequent months in a desperate attempt to lose weight.Years later, with proper treatment for my thyroid disease, I did lose the weight - and I've kept it off. But I'll always remember the embarrassment and shame this physician made me feel over something that was largely out of my control.

My 11 year old daughter has been seeing Dr. Crudo for a couple of years now for a genetic disorder and I must say that his bedside manner in dealing with her is EXCELLENT!! She is not afraid to talk to him and he is very patient with her and explain things to her on her level. In dealing with me he goes above and beyond to make sure that we have everything that we need to ensure that she is developing the way she should. We love Dr. Crudo!!!
