Dr. Castellano and his team are amazing. I went for a consult on a Tuesday, the following Thursday I was under the laser! Him and his lovely team were always asking if I was okay and explaining everything before I could even wonder what was next. My initial appointment took about 30 minutes and that is from the time I checked in until the time I was back in my car, then my actual laser appointment was 30 minutes. Ive been a contact wearer for 25 years, and was always hesitant to have basic, but I would not hesitate to do this again! In fact, my mom has even made an appointment to talk about her options!

Love Dr. Castellano! I had my PRK done last year. PRK has a longer recovery time than LASIc and Dr. Castellano helped me feel reassured, calm and confident through the entire process. Dr. Castellano was there to ease me and encourage me. Last month I did my annual eye checkup. My other eye doctor told me whoever did your PRK did a really good job! Besides this, Dr. Castellano has a good bedside manner, he is truly an amazing person. He will give you his personal phone number in case you have any questions and he is there always to help you and answer your questions. I am so grateful that I met him! If you are considering getting PRK, don’t hesitate to go to Dr. castellano! I wouldn’t recommend any other doctor.

Dr. Castellano was an absolute expert in his craft and in patient care. My lasik procedure was thorough and perfect. He talks you through each step and helps keep you relaxed for the procedure. His team is top notch and run like a well oiled machine. I have never experienced better care and customer service.

Dr. Castellano is thorough, brilliant, and explains everything. I felt very confident getting LASIK and I should have done it much sooner. His team has excellent communication and is easily reachable. He also provides his cell phone after surgery so patients can easily reach him.

Dr. Castellano and the whole office staff are top notch. Never waited in the waiting room for longer than 5 minutes (I even arrived early for all appointments). They walk you through each step and work flawlessly together as a team. He reviewed my chart prior to seeing me and knew my eye history. They offered quick scheduling where I got LASIK less than 1 week from my initial consultation! I was in and out of the building day of LASIK in just about 45 minutes. He talked me through the entire procedure; about 10 minutes total in the laser suite and was painless. There was 2 hours of intense tearing, burning afterwards, so would recommend having ibuprofen handy to take right after procedure to help, but as soon as I woke up from my nap, I had no pain. Some haziness in my vision, but 20 20 vision less than 24 hours post-op.Provided his cell phone number in case I had any concerns and called to check on me that evening.It takes a whole team and this team made it easy!

I was worried about getting lasik, after meeting with Dr. Castellano and his team I felt much better about my decision to move forward with it. He explained the process step by step during the surgery. Everything went smooth and he was available by phone anytime I had a question post op. He had even told me after my last checkup to keep his number and don’t hesitate to call if I had any questions. Customer service at his office is 100%. Great experience all the way around and would recommend him to anyone!

I recently had LASIK surgery performed by Dr. Castellano on both eyes. The results have been excellent, even in the short time since my surgery. More importantly, Dr. Castellano and the staff at Havener were extremely guiding, accommodating, and informative at every step. They explained things thoroughly and answered questions in detail. I never felt pressured to pursue this elective procedure at all. Notably, during my first consult, one of the tests indicated I may not be a good candidate for LASIK. The doctor was thoughtful and did additional testing to ensure that I was a good candidate for LASIK and did not have any increased risk for bad side effects (which an initial test suggested might be possible). Since the procedure he has been very communicative and easy to reach. I would recommend him, and Havener, to anyone.

Office is professional and visits run early or on time. Dr. Castellano makes a point to explain the procedure and is not trying to sell you anything. Lasik comes with a lifetime guarantee - I asked if that covered any complications and they said 'honestly we've never had that come up', meaning it's been 10 years and their surgery hasn't ruined anyone's eyeballs. The guarantee is in case your prescription changes and you need a touch up.

Dr. Castellano and the Havener staff were wonderful to work with. My LASIK surgery was scheduled before a federal holiday and they were happy to accommodate and push the 24-hr post-op checkup to late afternoon of the actual surgery date. By then I was already showing great results and seeing 20/20 or better. Everyone involved was courteous, calming, and did their best to explain the steps of the procedure and why they’re doing them, and what to expect along the way. The actual surgery was less than 10 minutes and I was there for less than an hour total. They send you home with detailed and helpful home care instructions and stressed that if anything happens or if you have any questions to call Dr. Castellano on his personal phone. Overall 5/5, I would happily recommend Dr. Castellano and the staff at the Havener Eye Institute to anyone looking for LASIK or other ophthalmological care
