Never
I had been treated by Dr. Barrera for breast cancer and felt like he was a good physician and I continued thru my radiation treatments and follow up until 2011 at which time I only saw him one time at the insistence of my new physician Dr. Singh because he saw in my blood work abnormal urine levels of protein and asked me to see a blood specialist and he would forward my blook work to him which he did. Dr. Barrera did not review the report and neither did his assistant and this was 1 month after my appointment with Dr. Barrera (no since of urgency on anyone but Dr. Singh) Dr. Barrera was a physician that I had put my trust in and to be told by his assistant that they did look at my blood work that they had performed their own test and saw nothing. We were now down 2 months or more of a delay. I went to the emergency room with severe pain and they preformed blood work and found a mass in my spine and more (plasmacytoma). My anger is very great to think that they ignored the blood work.

Caring knowledgeable oncologist
Dr. Barrera is reassuring, kind, and knowledgeable. He gives as much of his time as needed, during the appointment (and other times), to share information and make the patient feel comfortable and assured. This was especially important for me during my very first visit at the beginning of my cancer treatment!
