Wouldn't Reccomend any of my friends or family to his office. The Manager is very rude. He should fire her. I had an issue she not once got up to address me face to face. When she said what she had to say she dismissed me by turning her head around and continued to look at her computer. The receptionist spoke sonloud she sounded like a robot. Every one in the waiting in the waiting room could hear all your information. His waiting room is very small. He did have a very nice Ultrasound tech. She was very kind and compassionate. I had been to Dr. Avino many years ago and his staff was nicer than the ones he has. Too bad for him because I will never return to that office again. .

Dr Avino
I’ve read through the reviews and I’ve been a patient of Dr. AVinos for about five years, when I have an appointment I don’t think I’ve ever waited more than 15 minutes to get in. I sit in the room for a little while they do some tests and eventually the doctor comes in usually within 20 minutes then he sits and talks to me, goes over things and decide what we’re gonna do from here. I think he’s fantastic his bedside manners terrific he’s likable his staff is friendly, so going back to the bad reviews. I have no clue they must’ve seen a different doctor.

Incompetent
I fired Dr Avino after four years of subpar service. Wait time to see him is usually over an hour. Office phones are rarely answered within 10 minutes. Medical test records are not often diligently retrieved from sources and in my case I was left with attempting to get my medical test records from Mercy Hospital only to find out they were available the whole time. I find Dr. Avino’s office to be understaffed. They told me “we don’t have time to retrieve all medical test because we don’t know who showed up or not’. Inexcusable

I have been a patient 3 yrs and after several tests, Dr Avino always spends time, explaining findings, my condition, recommended medication changes. I never feel rushed, nor unable to have questions answered. I have gone there for Stress tests ordered by other Drs, years ago, performed by his staff, all competent and pleasant.

I was told by this doctor that I needed a TAVR procedure for aortic stenosis. After some consideration, I agreed to it via the Patient Portal and was responded to via the portal and told that another doctor's office would contact me to set up an appointment for pre-testing which never happened. At my next visit with Avino he denied that he ever told me I needed it but only if I needed surgery for another issue I had. I can only assume that the doctor I was referred to reviewed my test results and determined that it was not necessary at that time. I should have been told immediately, and for him to lie about it when I have the referral in writing on the portal is unconscionable. His caring demeanor is a joke. Also, plan on three hours or more if you go there.

Doctor Avino has been taking care of my father for many years. Dad (86) was not doing well so I came into town from Colorado. We met with Dr. Avino. He was GREAT. He took the time to answer all our questions. Made my father feel confident that he was going to get better. Since that time, my father has improved. His spirits are up. He is exercising as much as he can so he can gain strength. Just like Doctor Avino told him to do. Just so you know, none of my dad's issues were heart related at all, but Doctor Avino took the time with him to put him at ease. Something his general care practitioner did not do. I cannot say enough about Doctor Avino. He is tops in my book.

I believe that Dr Avino is rather unconventional with the time he allows each patient, which is no limit. Other patients wait quite a while to see him, but when their turn arrives they too have no limit on the time they need with Dr Avino. I found that when I first called for an appointment he took me immediately. After running a couple tests he had me immediately admitted to Buffalo General Hospital for an angiogram, which was quickly followed by open heart surgery - 6 bypasses. I believe he saved my life. So if you want to whine about waiting in the waiting room... go ahead. I am so happy with Dr Avino because he got me right into the surgery room!

My first question... how do you follow up with this doctor? Have been trying to follow up for two weeks for a person with whom I have been charged care. Phone rings and disconnects. Terrible communication. No follow up. Not recommended for someone in need of urgent care. Dr Avino, you are supposed to be a health care professional. My opinion is you are nothing but a quack. And fix the phone issue! Unbelievably unprofessional.

Terrible doctor. He should have his medical license taken away. There are other options. Please do not go there. You will be disappointed. He is awful and his staff is rude. I feel sorry for his patients. I would rate him 0 stars if possible. I would NEVER recommend him.

I have read these reviews and I am absolutely disgusted. Dr Avino is the best doctor I know and he saved my life. I agree the wait times are long sometimes but he is a cardiologist with emergencies. He takes time to help each patient however long that may be. I know personally he spent over 45 mins with me the first time I saw him to get everything squared away. I would and do recommend him to everyone!!

He should not be in practice taking care of this His office is managed very poorly. Unfriendly staff, long wait times, and no follow up. It is a stressful, discouraging and unproductive complete waste of time. Dr. Avino says he is always available," Call anytime." but trying to get any clarification of the misinformation and erroneous orders he provides is near impossible. Go elsewhere if you are in need of care. Your medical health is in jeopardy here.

We are still waiting after two weeks for Dr Avino's office to return our calls to see another Dr at Buffalo General Hospital that Dr Avino wanted my husband to see with concerns of his Doppler. I have called his office for 2 weeks and receptionist just tells us she will put it in the notes and will have someone return our call. This has been since the end of March 2018, it is now April 9th 2018. Looking for other Dr. The receptionist is horrible.

My 87-year-old father had test on 12/19/17 in prep for pacemaker. April 2018 and we have yet to get the results. I made over 20 calls to the office during past months but phone system doesn't work. I finally drove to the office, I live 45 minutes away, and asked girl at the desk for results. She told me "no news is good news" and they're aware of the phone system (hasn't worked for 3 months). Still no results, seeing different dr., not paying bill. Wouldn't take my dog there.

Doctor is personable and knowledgeable, explained the condition, and was pleasant. My experiences with his office staff-poor. I requested a copy of office visit paperwork mailed or faxed to me, and still have not received it after multiple requests. While my husband liked Dr. Avino, his office staff is HORRENDOUS! He requested a copy of an office letter & report to submit for a life insurance policy change, & has been waiting for over a month. He even signed a release. The front end person we have had to deal with, Jean, is VERY nasty & rude. She refused to let my husband speak to the office manager or give him the office manager's name. Do yourself a favor and DON'T go there! The doctor is never available to speak to about this either.
