Listens and wants to support her patients
We are new to the area and absolutely loved our previous neurologist, she was amazing and has big shoes to fill. Dr. Wyant was very kind, and supported the previous treatment regimen, answered all questions I had, and it was a pleasant visit. I loved hearing about how much she loves the beach. Dr. Wyant doesn’t seem to do well with eye contact, that doesn’t make or break a doctor, though. I really suspect the negative reviews are more related to this and social “norm” expectations. Going in with an open mind and looking past this can match you up with what seems like an awesome doctor to us.

would not recommend!
I went yesterday and was very unhappy with my experience. this was my first visit to Raleigh neurology and im hoping that not all of the neurologists are like her. the nurse was much way more engaging than her. once dr.wyant came in, she just rapid fired questions at me. her first question was asking me if my symptoms could be because I was pregnant (if I was pregnant I would not be at the neurologist for my symptoms and my primary doctor already tested me for that). so she was just asking questions at me and in the end she told me it's not a brain thing, but gastroparesis. she wouldn't listen to me when I told her I don't think it's that because most of my symptoms affect my head. she seemed like she just shut me down when I tried to disagree with her, and I thought it's because im a college student so she wasn't taking me seriously but it looks like some parents felt the same. im surprised she does pediatrics because she was so disengaged and bored, wouldn't even make eye contact!

a dr who fails to listen to the patient and apparently feels since she is the dr that parents are not knowledgeable or intelligent enough to voice concerns - two of our children saw her and both complained they did not want to see her again- her decision in changing her predecessor‘s medication recommendations did irreparable harm to my child’s well being and high school experience, with long term impact. Refused to listen to concerns or look at prior notes. after years at this practice, we switched because of her

Dr. Wyant is by far the worst doctor I've encountered in my 48 years. Upon meeting her my daughter said she never wanted to go back to her again. Dr. Wyant barely even looked at my daughter, seemed anxious and nervous, and made us uncomfortable. I asked to be transferred to a different pediatric neurologist and was told I could not. I suspect it's because so many others had also asked to be transferred after being seen by Dr. Wyant. I am now in the process of transferring everything over to a different neurology clinic because we've had enough of Dr. Wyant after trying to give her the benefit of the doubt for a year. It's a shame because Raleigh Neurology as a whole seems good (the previous neurologist we saw was great but she moved away).

Didn’t seem overly interested or concerned in my child’s symptoms or reason she had been referred to neurology by her pediatrician. Not overly engaging or child friendly. Very awkward appointment overall. Front desk and nurse were good, though!
