My personal review of Dr. Daniel Popowich
I recently underwent a robotic colon resection performed by Dr. Daniel Popowich, and I cannot express enough how grateful I am for his exceptional care and expertise. From the moment I met Dr. Popowich, I was struck by his professionalism and genuine compassion. He took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, addressing all my concerns and ensuring I felt comfortable every step of the way.Dr. Popowich’s proficiency in robotic surgery was evident throughout the process. The procedure itself was remarkably smooth, and I was amazed at how minimally invasive it was. I experienced significantly less pain and a quicker recovery than I had anticipated, thanks to his skillful technique. His commitment to using advanced technology not only enhanced the precision of the surgery but also contributed to a shorter hospital stay and a faster return to my daily activities.Post-surgery, Dr. Popowich continued to provide outstanding follow-up care. He was readily available to answer questions

Dr. Popowich is without a doubt the best colorectal surgeon out there. When seeking the top surgeon for my case, I was referred to Dr. Popowich. I have no regrets. The surgery went perfectly with no complications. His staff, especially Ms. Marge, were excellent. They are quick and responsive when it comes to scheduling and Pre surgery Prep. The doctor and staff were kind and caring even after the surgery

The gold standard of care for evaluating a complicated patient is to review medical records in advance when they have been made available to the surgeon. Three other colorectal surgeons required paper records in advance which were reviewed thoroughly before my visit. I emailed my records to Dr. Popowitz’s office manager, received an email confirming receipt, and even called the following week and she verbally confirmed she had emailed them to him. Yet, when I arrived, he said he did not have my records even after telling him I had an email confirming receipt. He said, “There are eight doctors in this office and my office manager is out because her husband is sick.” He took no responsibility and refused to apology. Yet he has the last word in the office visit record where he lied 3 times stating that he offered an apology. This is arrogant, disrespectful and this experience made it obvious that he would not be a good choice as a surgeon.

Dr. Popowich is a highly skilled surgeon and a terrific, caring physician. He handled my emergency laparoscopic surgery to remove a Non-Hodgkinson's Lymphoma in my colon. Afterward, he came by my hospital room early every morning for the next two weeks to see how my recovery was going and coordinate my care. Can't say enough good things about him!

Unique, caring and brilliant surgeon who cares about his patients as if they are family. I knew that I wanted to use him for my surgery as soon as I left his office. He explained his approach very clearly unlike the other consultations that I had (I had already scheduled them so I went on them). Even though my surgery was not the most complicated type I was still anxious. Dr. Popowich came into the holding room before my surgery and went through the procedure again which was very comforting.

Dr Popowich recently performed laparoscopic surgery to remove a section from my colon due to diverticulitis. Prior to the surgery, he spent time to detail the procedure, and was at pains to explain all the associated risks and answer all questions. The procedure went well, and I have experienced minimal pain. I have found him to be very approachable as evidenced by the fact that he visited me every morning during my hospital stay, and is very prompt in following up with post-surgery questions.

I found Dr. Popowich from Health Grades. He had 5, 5-star reviews and I had no idea who to go to for an incisional hernia, so I rolled the dice. He is an excellent doctor and I will definitely recommend him going forward. I had my surgery at Mount Saini and found that the hospital and the team he works with were also top-notch. My experience was excellent and the whole process was painless, not counting the recovery of course. He is an all around skilled and solid doctor with a friendly manner.

Dr. Popowich is my hero. My husband has a very complicated history. He saved my husband's life when another dr told me to plan a funeral. Dr. Popowich is not only an extremely skilled and intelligent surgeon, he CARES. He cares about his patients during surgery and he cares about his patients' quality of life after surgery. We followed him to NYC and will always fly wherever he is. Caring bedside manner. He takes the time and explains everything. Excellent surgeon I trust with my own life.
