Spent more time than I anticipated at the end of a long day explaining results of an EGD and the options for our child. Much appreciated. Excellent care. Evidence-based. Thank you so much.

Dr. O'Connell treated me for Crohn's disease from the ages of 16-21. Over that time (with multiple relapses) I received nothing but excellent care from him and his team. Whenever operations or surgeries were needed he would closely collaborate with surgeons and show up with them to go over the plan. He was always kind, collected, caring, and took time for me. His team would fit me in when things came up unexpectedly (as they do with Crohn's), and their response time for any questions was always within 24 hours, many times within 12. As a mature young adult, I so appreciated that he treated me like a reasoning adult and equal. He is the gold standard I will likely compare to all other doctors to as I move to adult doctors. If I was a parent I'd take my kid to him in a heartbeat.

No one has helped my daughter more. Literally life changing. Takes time, listens and collaborated with both patient and parent

He was caring, great with my 9 year old daughter - speaking directly to her like an equal. I liked the way he was reluctant to over-treat despite not finding out what was going on. He did find something that addressed the issue, for now and that was a relief.

Excellent physician with superb manner and knowledge. We hate to leave him.
