Dr. Daniel Oakes, MD

Wasn't able to walk, tried every injection available. First Doctor to tell me the truth about my prognosis. Had both knees replaced by Dr. Oakes. Still healing from the second surgery. First surgery went great, no issues with pain, just a little stiffness but that is normal, still healing. Great Doctor, to include his staff. All of them. Great response time, he explains everything the good, the bad and the ugly, but gives you hope. Highly Highly recommend him.

I had a full-knee robotic replacement performed by Dr. Oakes at KECK on May, 2022, and because my experience was better than I had ever expected, from start to finish, I now have even more confidence in his performing the same procedure on my right knee in the not-too-far-off future. He is simply the best, as is his immediate team. Very highly recommend — you’re in excellent hands!

My mother has been a patient of Dr Oakes since 2000. He not only an expert in his field but a very compassion and an amazing human being. He actually cares for his patients. He treated my 95 year old grandmother for a hip Fracture. He treated her with such kindness and humanity. That's why I am now also his patient. He is treating me for my knee and I feel confident in his healing approach. I really trust Dr. Oakes and I know he's always there for his patients. He's truly an asset to Keck Hospital. We followed him from UCLA to Keck Hospital. I highly recommend him. My whole family has switched to Keck Hospital of USC for all of our health care.

Dr.Oakes did a knee replacement on me in May, I just saw his today for my 90 day check up. My knee is healing great and I must thank him and the total organization for taking such great care or all my needs, you would be very happy with him and his staff.

Dr Oakes did my knee replacement and he is the best around. No problems whatsoever, and he followed through in each stage of my recovery. My knee replacement was a ‘special situation’ because of previous surgeries, scar tissue etc. He did a perfect surgery. My mobility is excellent and 5 years out from surgery I’ve had no issues.

A ditto to all the other positive reviews on Dr. Oakes! He truly is the best in all categories. Even sitting in the X-ray room, other patients comment how they came from far corners just for his expertise. I did a lot of homework before choosing a knee surgeon! He did both knees! If I had two more knees, he would be the one! THANK YOU DR. OAKES! And another plus, what doctor do you know who will answer your emails within one day?

Short and sweet . 2hip replacements 09,4-16, The most professional,patient, informed ,doctor I have ever used. He is only as good as his staff, and they are super stars. I was in and out of the hospital in24 hrs. Back golfing in less than 30 days . You will know from the minute you meet him ,he's the guy! I visited 3 other doctors before I decided on Dr Oakes. I've had no complications and truly feel like he gave me my life back . In summation , I never met him before my surgery , I'm UCLA fan.

Total knee replacement at a young age, after injury. Dr. Oakes is/was magnificent. Despite his popularity, he runs mostly on time. Very thorough, gives you his time. Just a great experience.

He did a PERFECT total right hip replacement on me. I was walking without a limp and felt ready to go back to work in 3 weeks (but took the whole 6 weeks). I'm so glad I did my research and had him do my surgery. The hospital experience was A+ as well; the nursing staff was great and explained everything they were giving me and kept me in the loop as well as giving me choices for meds the whole way. I'll be back for my left hip replacement at the end of the year.
