Disappointed
Urology is a sensitive area for teens, he made my child very uncomfortable and had poor bedside manner. My child stated there was a feeling of disrespect when it came to the exam. He lacks care and kindness. You want your child to feel comfortable in this type of environment. Sadly, we experienced the opposite. There was a lack empathy when it came to the issue and the length it has been going on. One would think a person working with a child would walk more carefully in his approach.

Rude and unhelpful
Dr McMahon was not interested in diagnosing the cause of my son’s pain. He told us to study up because using the term groin wasn’t specific enough. He recommended Physical Therapy because “what else are you going to do?” Very rude and inconsiderate. Would recommend going elsewhere.

We saw Dr.McMahon for my sons follow up after his circumcision and he saw us less than 60seconds. He diagnosed my son with mild hypospadias and said to “call if he develops any problems”. When I asked as he was opening the door to leave the room if this would have any effect on him later in life he quickly said no, I’d be more concerned with the size of the hole and walked out. No explanation or things to watch out for! Will not go back!

By far the best urologist! My husband and I had a great experience for our son with Dr McMahon. From the consult all the way until the end of surgery. I felt very comfortable leaving my son in Dr McMahons hands. We cannot thank him enough!

My son had an undescended testicle & surgery was scheduled but we moved here before the surgery date.I took my son to Dr.McMahon, all he did was a 5 minute visual check & talked into a recorder. He was rude.He told me my son was fine & didn't need surgery.I was shocked! I then scheduled my son to be seen at university rainbow babies, they were much more involved & they scheduled the surgery immediately to avoid lowered levels of testosterone. He could've had permanent damage had I listened to him!

I would not recommend this urologist to no one my son is 3 and has been seeing this dr since he was born for his kidneys not only did he tell me after 3 years of seeing him that he did not have a diagnosis but he was also very inconsiderate about other peoples feelings. After getting one second opinion at Pittsburgh children's hospital they were able to tell me exactly what was wrong with him and that this isn't going to correct itself and there is permanent damage from nothing being done

My son needed a small procedure which Dr.McMahon referred to as "routine". This is not routine to me and my first born so I was upset with the fact we sat in his exam room 35min before seeing Dr.McMahon. personality clash could have been at fault however he was reluctant to answer my questions and seemed as though he couldn't wait to get rid of us. We had much better luck with Dr Clark. Same practice different bedside manner. Much happier and much more comfortable I was.
