Dr. Daniel McLaughlin, MD

I accompanied a severely injured child to the Holy Spirit ER. Dr. McLaughlin deftly guided the whole care team in a rapid evaluation and addressed the problem at hand. Afterward, he shared his professional assessment in a very kind, compassionate, and understanding way. I certainly would entrust the care of myself or that of a family member to this very capable physician.

My daughter came into the er with a laceration to the forehead. Dr. M was dismissive when I said I wanted a plastic surgeon to stitch my 1 year old daughter head. He "called" PS (so he claims, he was out of the room for 1 min) and assured me PS was confident with his plan. He proceeded to start stitching my 1 year old, while giving her nothing to relax, she was screaming uncontrollably with 5 people holding her down.. his hands were visibly shaking so badly it was troubling. At one point he poked her with the needle. The stitches look like Frankenstein stitches and he told me they were dissolveable stitches. After consulting with a PS a few days later, Dr. M used the wrong stitches on my daughter's head. The PS informed me these stitches are stitches you put into someone's mouth after oral surgery, not on a person's face. The stitches were in her face for only 5 days and she has a traintrack mark on her face. Horrible doctor, horrible bedside manor. ER docs DON'T STITCH FACES.
