Dr. Daniel Hoeffel, MD

Hip replaced in 2013. Since that I climbed Kilimanjaro ~19000ft. and many other highly stressing activities. Now have to replace other hip. I wish I could go with Dr. Hoeffel again. Looks like now Dr. Hoeffel work is the best part of my body!

Dr. Hoeffel performed a total knee replacement for me six years ago. This was a knee with five previous surgical procedures (with other surgeons) over thirty years. Six months after Dr. Hoeffel's surgery, I was hiking the Grand Canyon, and the knee has been trouble-free since the replacement. While the knee was significantly arthritic, with repaired ligaments and scant remaining cartilage, it was not particularly painful, but occasionally unstable causing me to fall. Dr. Hoeffel patiently advised me that I would know when it was time for me to schedule the replacement. In addition to being an outstanding technical surgeon, Dr. Hoeffel is also an excellent communicator/educator with an appropriately friendly personality. He was very exacting in his prescription for physical therapy post-op, which I am sure facilitated my relatively swift recovery. I am very grateful, now at age 73, that my legs are in good shape, and I am able to be active in outdoor recreation without limits.

He is very skilled and very particular about the surgeries he performs. This is a high quality and professional person. All this and he is extremely "down to earth" and easy to work with...a great combination.

Dan has done major right hip surgery removing a plate from my leg and putting in a shiny new metal hip. In addition, Dr. Hoeffel replaced my left hip a year ago in my only standard hip surgery I have had in my life AND he did bilateral knee replacements a couple of months ago. In addition he replaced my mom's knee about a decade ago. So would I recommend him? Unconditionally and if my life was in the balance. I feel as strongly about Jillian & Brett as well. They are remarkable.
