Downplayed my wife's condition
My wife visited St. Vincent's ER multiple times with severe symptoms: chest pain, racing pulse, right-side numbness, blurred vision, and elevated blood pressure. Despite informing staff about her Graves' disease, they only performed basic CT scans before discharging her.During our final visit, I told Dr. Combs I feared for her safety if discharged while she still had chest pain radiating to her arm, right-side numbness, and vision problems. He dismissed these concerns and refused specialized testing, claiming she 'didn't meet qualifications' for admission.When we finally sought help elsewhere, doctors told us she could have died had we waited another day. This experience has severely damaged my trust in St. Vincent's emergency care. If you experience similar symptoms, insist on escalation to another physician or seek care elsewhere immediately.
