Patient and Calm
I first saw Dr. Boffa for esophageal cancer more that six years ago. He has always explained details with patience, calm, and good humor. He is very caring as well as being a skilled surgeon, and this sets him apart as one of the best.

Great doctor
Dr Boffa was honest about the difficult surgery . I do think he could have discussed post surgical aspects more and what to expect afterwards. He has a wonderful team that works together very well. I recovered fairly quickly and am more optimistic about my future

Esophageal surgery
About three years ago I was diagnosed with cancer in my lower esophagus and stomach. Dr Baffa said my best option was to have an esophagectomy surgery ( cutting out part of stomach and esophagus to include the stomach valve) to be done after initial radiation and chemo therapy. He told me surgery was my only option and that I would be back to normal after six months. After the surgery he told me that all biopsies came back negative, meaning that the chemo and radiation had killed all cancer and surgery was probably unnecessary. As a result of the surgery I developed dry mouth which is a condition far worse than most people can imagine and which he never told me could result from the surgery Since then I’ve been in and out of hospital with a flipped colon, intestinal blockage, stomach bleeds and more. I’m writing this review while waiting for a blood transfusion at the hospital. I hate him for not telling me the truth initially in that, while the surgery might prolong your life, the lif
