Dr. Daniel Aires, MD

Dr. Aires is probably the best doctor we have had across any specialty. He is thorough and thoughtful, and he is extremely accessible, always willing to spend the time to understand our needs and develop comprehensive solutions. Although we have worked with a number of very fine dermatologists in a few different cities, Dr. Aires has created the best results by far.

Going to the dermatologist was never my favorite health-related activity, but Dr. Aires changed that. He's empathetic and a good listener. I trust his instincts and appreciate his collaborative approach.

Hi, Dr. Aries is proactive, consistently thorough, patient, understanding and easy to talk to. He listens well and always took the time to answer all my questions in a way I understand best. He never rushes and I've never felt rushed by him or his staff. I received a transplant over 30 yrs ago here at KUMC Hospital in KC Ks. I've been seeing Dr Aries sense he came to KUMC and he's always shown genuine concern for my health and wellbeing. Dr Aries has played a very big part in why I'm alive still today. Dr Aries is one of my favorite doctors, someone to look up to, a friend and one of my Hero's. I'm truly sad to see him leaving KUMC. My new dermatologist will have big shoes to fill. I have been a patient of Dr. Aires for a few years. I appreciate his thoroughness and compassion. I never felt that he was in a hurry or that my concerns were silly. He has a tremendous bedside manner and a tremendous sense of humor. Both have made my visits and procedures pleasant. Prior to meeting Dr. Aires I was diagnosed and treated for malignant melanoma. I am thankful I was led to Dr. Aires by a friend with a similar diagnosis as mine. Dr. Aires has been very reassuring and very accessible and will be missed by me and many many others. I hope that the fine folks in California appreciate their new dermatologist. California’s gain is Kansas and Missouri’s loss.

This doctor has consistently provided me exceptional care over the last many years. He spots dermatological irregularities quickly that others miss and makes a plan to deal with each. He also makes it his business that you understand the plan and that your considerations are part of it. As a patient you are listened to. Finally he makes himself accessible so that in the event he is needed he can be reached. I could not have asked for better care.

I could not have asked for a better, more compassionate doctor. He goes out of his way to help his patients understand what’s going on and is at our beckoned call if need be. I was sorry to hear of him leaving KU to move to CA. His patients will surely miss him. I do already.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Aries since 2013 right after a diagnosis of CTCL. He has faithfully encouraged me to keep on getting healthy, and not give up on uvb treatments or my follow up appointments. He is knowledgeable about my condition plus watches my skin for other abnormalities.

Due to the many drugs I take for a liver transplant 25 years ago, my skin has suffered the consequences. Thanks to Dr. Aires and his excellent care and advice, my skin has improved a great deal. He is always kind, patient, thorough in his exams and full of good ideas and tips to help keep my skin as healthy as possible. I will miss him as one of my doctors when he leaves KC.

Dr. Aires makes you feel so comfortable and that makes it very easy to talk to him. He ask questions & listens to all your concerns. He has some great over the counter remedies that really work. My husband & I have had several small skin cancers that Dr. Aires diagnosed and treated successfully. I have a rare autoimmune disorder that causes different skin problems that he has been managing for me for several years. I have been going to him for over 15 years, he will be missed. Best Wishes.
