Compassion, empathy, and medical greatness
I saw Dr. Clarke for about 20 years of my life as a diabetic. He changed my life, and opened me up to so many possibilities through the management of my diabetes. He treated me with so much respect, and empathy, and he gave me the greatest gift of his time. he never showed the flaw that some doctors have of being above us all, or a God. At my appointments, he treated me as a partner and provided education when I needed it, hope when I had lost it,And guidance in helping me make my medical care decisions. He helped me to see that I was more than just diabetic, and then I could be a driver in my healthcare. He listened when I read about this new insulin pump that had just come on the market, and was with me when I wanted to try to try it.. I moved away from SLC about 10 years ago. I have felt a loss in not being able to see him anymore. I just needed to say how wonderful this man is.
