Very disappointed
We went to see Dr Delbello because he was highly recommended. We were told that my son had a rare condition in both his feet and there were 2 different surgeries that could be done. He didn’t give us much details, but said that neither one may work. He followed that by saying he doesn’t know much about this and had to “research” it more. He never referred us to anyone else (that may be able to help us) and we never heard back from him. These appointments were a complete waste of our time and money. He did not help us at all or even guide us to someone that could. We’re in the same predicament we were before we saw him.

Clubfoot Treatement - Love Dr. DelBello
Dr. DelBello has been my son's doctor since he was born in 2009. He successfully treated my son'ts club foot. We saw him for 5 years for steady treatment and have continued to see him throughout the years for follow ups. I will agree that it is difficult to get appointments and the wait time is usually lengthy. However, Dr. DelBello was our savior and every minute waiting was well worth it. He is honest, practical and will not sugar coat things. At the same time he recognized that as a new mom I needed reassurance in dealing with my son's diagnosis. He is realistic in his treatment and care. My son is now 15, involved in football, soccer and track. Things I never imagined. I would never second guess my decision to see Dr. DelBello.

Snarky, rude and insensitive
I found Dr. Delbello to be extremely rude. I waited over an hour to be seen with my two year old. When he finally came in (and my child was no longer happy since I can only entertain so much while in a waiting room) he was very unpleasant and had the worst bed side manner. How this man is a pediatric physician and isn’t even kind to children is beyond me. My child was whining in discomfort as he was doing the examination, he told my two year old “oh stop that doesn’t hurt” which clearly it did. When I asked a simple question about the path forward, the doctor answered me super snarky with a response as if I was stupid. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone.

Middletown staff is absolutely horrible
His front desk staff is downright ghetto! They are argumentative, rude and honestly I’ve had better service at a fast food than I experienced at his Middletown office. It’s a shame that these people are hired to work in the health care industry when high touch service is so needed, especially when you are dealing with pediatric patients and their very worried parents.

Doesn't call back ever
I have been trying to get DelBello to call/ send a letter to insurance due to an urgent health matter for my child. No call backs for a week. He's a decent doctor, but Westchester Medical Center is understaffed and horribly run. Indifferent and hostile support staff.

Dr Delbello is great. My complaint is with how they schedule & overbook. They allowed 3 patients to go before me (even though their appointments were after mine)….. just because those people complained about the wait time.

Just called to schedule an appointment, because my 5 year old son have a broken elbow and the ER referred Dr Delbello. The lady was extremely rude saying Dr DelBello doesn’t accept new patients and asked me where my son was seen. I said New York Presbyterian and she said shouting ‘IT’S NOT EVEN OUR HOSPITAL’. So just to let everybody know, don’t waste your time calling, he doesn’t see new patients especially if you were not seen at their hospital.

Office staff is extremely rude! Tried making an appointment after my daughter was seen in the er and diagnosed with a buckled break in her arm and the receptionist was very rude. This doctor was on the list to call to schedule her appointment for her follow up and the receptionist would not give an appointment without asking anything about my child, even though I explained that the er orders were to call them for a follow up appointment. Very disappointed and would not want them to treat my child.

Dr. DelBello was terrific. It was very easy to make an appointment when my son hurt his hand, and his assistant Colin was very helpful. Dr. DelBello took the time to listen to my son, examine him and review his xrays. He needed a cast, but wanted to be able to have fun this summer, so Dr. DelBello gave him a waterproof cast so he could still go to camp and swim. And he let him pick the color so he was very excited that it was bright green! Dr. DelBello, his resident, his assistant and the desk staff were all very helpful and friendly. We will definitely come back to him if my kids have orthopedic injuries in the future!

Dr. Delbello performed spinal fusion on my daughter and he literally gave her her life back. After a year of constant pain she now has no pain and is 100% and back to sports and all life activities. We never waited at all at the office and the PA is amazing!

I arrived early at the office as instructed to complete my toddler’s registration. We had been shown into a room an hour after our appointment time, and a PA came in to “start things.” She took off my sons shoes and socks to see his feet, then she left. The exam room was so cold that I had to put his socks back on after 10 minutes. We finally gave up when my normally happy 20 month old started to melt down because he was tired and bored. An hour and a half and we never saw the doctor.

While I do trust the doctor’s knowledge/skill, like another person mentioned, unless you’re fully informed of the medical cond. and it’s effects, you’ll be given little to no info regarding aftercare. It’s hard to know what questions to ask without understanding the limitations or issues a patient may run into. In my situation is was almost like he snapped his fingers, patient was fixed, you’re discharged forever. Good luck getting office staff to pick up or return calls.

While the wait time can be painful, the doctors is extremely knowledgable and caring. I don't understand people's comments about Dr. DelBello not taking the time to answer questions about their child's condition. We did not experience that, as a matter of fact, I came prepared with my list of questions and everything was addressed. I would recommend to others.

1ST AND LAST VISIT. He entered the exam room, stated, "Oh, didn't know you were in here," and sat and faced his computer. 2 asst's (I don't know who they were because they never introduced themselves) entered, asked a few questions, touched my knee in one area, and asked me to walk three steps. "Dr." Delbello, who re-entered after taking a phone call, talked (facing THEM) about potential diagnoses (using medical terms I actually knew because, you know...). Dr: leaves room. Asst's: F/U 6mo. HA!!

Never have I been treated so poorly by a doctor. Barely communicated with me about my child’s condition or treatment. When I asked questions barely got a response and was made to feel like I was overreacting. Visits were rushed after waiting over 90 minutes to see him. Horrible bedside manner. He needs to put the iPad down & communicate more with the child and parents. I would NEVER recommend him! Sorry I didn’t go with my gut and not return after our first visit. BIG mistake!

Dr Delbello appears to be a very experienced doctor. However, he doesn't give parents a full understanding of their child's problem, recovery process and possible issues. These all things a parents needs to understand when caring for the child. You have to draw information out of him and even then he doesn't explain things fully. He also runs hours behind schedule and then doesn't spend the time with you that you've been waiting hours for. Switched doctors.

Awful experience, he saw my son who had a broken tibia and without running any tests said he looked like he had "osteogenesis imperfecta"! Also he left us waiting while he picked up a personal call regarding his son's soccer game! The staff was awful and so was he!!

Our DD was born with BCF and he wasn't informative whatsoever. he'd walk in the room and start casting with out even saying a word to us or letting us know what was going on. When she cried, it bothered him like it was making him look bad or something. His work is pretty good but if he doesn't like crying he shouldn't be a kids doctor! And she was not measured right for her BNB so we called to reschedule on different occasions and they say they'd get back to us and never have. We gave up on him
