Dr. Cristina Nguyen, MD

My experience with Dr. Nguyen was frustrating and disappointing. I went in for what I was assured would be a covered annual physical, confirmed multiple times with the reservation department to make sure there would be no extra charges. The appointment, which lasted only 30 minutes, felt like a wasted time. Dr. Nguyen spent most of the time going over my history that I had already provided on MyChart. When I asked a couple of questions about my existing condition—information I had already received a referral for elsewhere—her response was dismissive. She essentially told me to see a specialist, which was not new information. To make matters worse, my insurance was billed an outrageous $1200, and I ended up paying $460 out of pocket. I called for an explanation, but was told the extra charges were due to Dr. Nguyen answering my referral questions beyond the annual physical, and they refused to adjust the bill. This experience is a rip-off—minimal service for a steep price.

Dr. Nguyen was is understanding, a great listener, compassionate, and respectful. She is thorough and did not rush me. She is an excellent provider who goes above and beyond for her patients.

I saw Dr Cristina Nguyen on 3-19-24 for a physical , she saw me for an hour, 30 minutes of which were dedicated to taking history then some basic examinations, for the following 30 min we discussed my depression and referrals to therapists and sleep center for possible sleep apnea. My insurance was billed total of 1085 and i ended up paying 382, which is a lot of money for me. I called the office explaining that i have never seen this high of a bill for a simple one hour office visit and they immediately said that they will not be adjusting or waving the payment. The service was mediocre by the doctor and the staff and I have never seen a charge more than 80 dollars for any office visit in my entire life. It is ridiculous amount for 30 min discussion. Needless to say will never return to this doctor nor UCLA care. Good luck to you with spiked charges, this doctor is nothing but a businesswoman

Dr. Nguyen kept talking over me, and I felt like I couldn't get a word in. I left very upset, and in the end she charged me almost $2000 for a physical plus a regular visit. When she didn't even listen to me. Would not recommend at all.
