Problem with getting an emergency visit.
I think Dr Carpenter is a wonderful doctor. He did my husbands knee replacements and he has had great results. I’ve seen him in the past for my knee arthritis. My problem is with calling his office for an emergency appointment. I fell 2 weeks ago and injured my knee. I went to the ER and was told it was sprained. After 10 days with severe pain and inability to walk I called Dr Carpenters office to get an appointment. I explained my situation to the gal who answered the phone and was told I couldn’t get an appointment until May. Well thankfully I called UofM health and they got me an appointment in 2 days. I have a tibial plateau fracture and see their trauma orthopedic department Tuesday and may need surgery. I can’t imagine if I had waited until May what might have happened.

I was in my early 50’s and barely able to walk when I went to see Dr. Carpenter. I had been very active my whole life, but had osteoarthritis in both knees and had gained a lot of weight. Two surgeons I had seen would not do surgery based on my age and weight and wanted me to continue PT and injections, which I had been doing for years. I was extremely fortunate to hear about Dr. Carpenter from someone I trusted. Once I began talking to people about Dr. Carpenter, I consistently heard what a talented and gifted surgeon he was and I made an appointment. He did bilateral knee replacements, I recovered quickly and was back to work pretty soon after surgery. It is now over 10 years later, and I have not had any problems, and am an active, pain free, fit person in my sixty’s. I walk everywhere! Dr. Carpenter is truly well above the bar as an orthopedic surgeon and I am eternally grateful to him.

Dr. Carpenter replaced both of my knees at the same time about 7 years ago. Great person, great staff. I had both ACL ligaments torn one had a Cadaver Achilles’ tendon holding it together. Woke up after replacements with out pain, first time in 25 years. Keeping leg strength up and stretching helps. Thank You DR. Carpenter

Dr Carpenter and his office have been wonderful during my two total knee replacements. Dr Carpenter explains things in a way that’s easy to understand as well as being compassionate. His P A’s are outstanding! There was only one person who I felt was judge mental, and difficult to deal with. I would go back to dr Carpenter for any other procedure I needed. I also recommend him as the best!

I tried to book with dr. Carpenter after seeing another doctor in the practice. And they told me I could not switch. I did not have confidence in a positive outcome with the other doctor after meeting him. And I guess I just didn't feel like we were on the same page, which is why I wanted to switch.
