He is an excellent psychiatrist!
Dr. Vine is a solid and excellent psychiatrist. He deserves his rewards. He is very cautious. But he knows what he is doing and he respects his patients. He sets healthy boundaries which may be difficult for most to understand. He’s the right man for most people to give a diagnosis and provide treatment or recommendations. I appreciate his approach and his time. I do feel sorry for others less ideal visits. He was on point with me. He listens and I like his style. He has a no BS approach and will get you the right services you need if you are willing to answer the questions and listen to his few words. He has been around the block and doesn’t toy with people that are not cooperative or motivated. He did anticipate my needs.

I saw Dr. Vine as a part of the U of M Partial Hospitalization Program. He referred me to a testing service that helps determine medications that might be the best fit. I didn't know that the service would cost over $400... Also, the test recommended a very expensive new medication that triggered a mixed episode with profound suicidal ideation, and I had to be hospitalized. There was also really important information about the medication that he didn't communicate to me (it has to be taken with a minimum amount of calories in order to be processed by your body). Overall, some of my terrible experience was just due to the short-term nature of seeing him as part of the program, but, I really think that there was insufficient patient education and support.

He is dishonest and dangerous. Dr. Vine- is a man who just doesn’t really try to help his patients. He deceived to me about treatment options that are causing long-term side effects that I will probably have for the rest of my life. He didn’t respond to requests for treatment coordination from my other doctors. He does not return phone calls and not take phone calls when I needed him. He flat out lied to me about my treatment options.

Dr. Vine is obviously extremely bright and asks the correct questions. I’d trust his judgement. He wasn’t the issue, his nurse was. Patrick(nurse)will not return your calls, so when you need refills you will be out of luck. Even after you mention it to management. It’s a real problem. Avoid this practice.

My experience with Dr. Vine was better than expected. After reading some of the negative comments I was hesitant. However, he does have an impressive reputation in the field and trusted by pharmacists and insurance companies. So, with the conflicting information and without knowing much of the office I chose it based on the central location. Quite anxious on arrival, I had to go through all the standard new patient paperwork which is really enough to bring anyone over the edge, this is the stand

Dr. Vine shows no care or empathy. He's dry during visits, makes no eye contact and almost robotic in his approach. Does not go out of his way to help.

I don't usually have bad experiences with doctors (or anybody). I'm an easygoing guy. But my experience with Dr. Vine was truly unpleasant. Upside: Dr. Vine prescribed a medication that literally changed my life. Downside: He never once made eye contact with me. He spent as little time with me as possible. He answered my questions dismissively and impatiently, and sometimes his answers were downright wrong. I'll always be grateful for the medicine he prescribed, but I'll never go back there.

His nurse Patrick, does not return phone calls. I had a question for dr vine and was completely ignored. I was never disrespectful in any of my dealings with their staff. In fact my counselor, who works for him, tried to call me with my question and she was ignored.
