Dr. Craig Hoover, MD

Dr. Craig Hoover is an exemplary Cardiologist. He never makes me feel rushed, despite my myriad of questions...and he patiently answers them, even when he has been asked the same questions multiple times. He also assists my learning by using drawings of the heart, demonstrating what he is explaining about its structure and function. He has shown me actual echo results as they appear on the screen, and he shows me the actual EKG strip and explains what they mean. I can see why he is a faculty member for the UofA. He is an excellent teacher. He is also a kind, patient, and compassionate human being. My last two Cardiologists were also remarkable and exemplary...but Dr. Hoover impresses me beyond measure. He listens, he explains, he teaches, he empathizes...in a word, SUPERB.

Dr Hoover and I discussed the results of my latest test. I had a list if questions which we discussed, from which we developed action items for adjustments in medications. I came away satisfied.

I had a very good experience with my check up & treadmill. I was in at my appointment time and everyone was friendly & helpful. My treadmill technician explained to me what was going to happen, answered my questions, and was very professional. 5 stars

Got info I needed. Had to wait 45 minutes, but doctor explained he had a case so all is good.

This visit was a follow-up for AFib cardio version; Dr. Hoover is a patient concerned physician. He listens, takes his time to be sure his patient understands the issues. He has my full confidence.

It's really very simple. Doc Hoover, AND his staff, are AMAZING. I've been a competitive cyclist for a good portion of my life. However, it turns out exercise doesn't beat out heredity, and I found myself with a concerning blockage at 49, purely by luck and a cardiac "event". Doc Hoover has an amazing pre-game, and is strong on the field too. Kind, patient demeanor, so that you don't freak out. Makes a serious situation as simple as super-sizing your Happy Meal. Mari is quick to follow up as well, and makes you feel like their only patient. Let's put it even more simply. I now drive from San Diego to see them, because I TRUST them.

Dr Hoover spent plenty of time with me. Since I spend a lot of time in Philadelphia I have an Electrophysiologist, the chief of EP at Univ. Of Pennsylvania. He supported have drs in both places. Additionally he said Penn has more up to date equipment and expertise if an ablation is down the road. We also took time to talk lacrosse which his son plays and my son was a professional player and head coach at Oxford University.

Professional and courteous

Had a great experience. Dr. Hoover is very knowledgeable and easy going. Nurses were great today for the stress test. Could have gone without hearing COVID stories from the nurses across the hall.
