He was more interested in amusing his staff than attending to his patients. He might well have an excellent knowledge of medicine but his treatment of me was unconscionable.I came to the ER because of an issue with my blood sugar. To go to the hospital at all was a difficult decision bc I’m recovering from surgery related to metastatic cancer. He was told this. He was told that I have a steady supply of morphine and adjunct drugs at home for the intense pain. We even discussed the possibility of a tumor affecting my blood sugar..He decided to admit me bc the blood sugar was proving difficult to manage. I agreed. While in the ER, I was given some morphine and one dose of Dilautid. I assumed I’d be given a longer acting pain medication and the dilautid when settled into a room. That was about 3am. He approved only the Dilautid every four hours. A 5 or 6 hour wait until the attending arrived on two doses of a drug meant for breakthrough pain. That isn’t medicine, it’s sadism.

I saw Dr. Farmer, at Fountain Valley ER having some heart issues. He was not only informative with his expertise, but explained it to me in a way I could understand. He also went above and beyond by calling a referral cardiologist to give him my medical information and I was able to book my appointment immediately since I was visiting from Hawaii. Thank you Dr. Farmer, it's refreshing to have a great experience with a very busy doctor. Mahalo.

Dr. Farmer took care of our mom last night in the ER. He was not just professional but kind and informative. He had a great sense of humor that many physicians lack. We appreciated his honesty and the time he took to be thorough. Thank you, Farmer and Nurse, Laura fir the outstanding job.
