Pros & Cons to this Experience Overall
Telehealth
They are aggressive (in a good way) in trialing for results. Requests for tests and data have been abundant and I like the focus to explore causes and results. However, I wouldn't consider the approach attentive or caring. Appointments are mostly recounting things previously documented. We're encouraged to use the portal to report results but messages are not reviewed, in the portal or appointment. Appointment documentation indicates there was 40 minutes preparing but they are unaware of previous activity nor the reason for the appt occurring, I have to remind of the reason. I'm often given recommendations that were already discussed or not applicable. They submit repeat Rx fills even if I already have the medication, citing 'best practice'. While it could be a better experience I'm okay being treated like a project instead of a patient if it gets me results.

I will tolerate no more...
When you have a 9:30 appt, are you okay with a 9:20 call (as you walk through the medical building) reprimanding you for not arriving 15 minutes prior and demanding that your appointment be rescheduled? Its happened to me multiple times. How do you feel about bedside manner? Do you want one that makes you want to cry? How do you feel about an office so rigid that there is very little compassion and zero accommodations made for your circumstances even after having 5-10 appointments per year and following all the unreasonable rules. I have been with this practice since 2018 (6 years) and put up with all sorts of unpleasant behavior. So many times I wanted to switch, but felt like it was such an ordeal with all the necessary pre-authorizations and difficult prescriptions. Have I had a number of 'okay' appointments? sure, but I can no longer stand by and ignore all the rest. I hope you find your perfect neurologist out there. Think long and hard before bothering with this one.

Poor communication
Visits were cluttered with lectures on my making requests of my other physicians to change their prescriptions and strengths of prescriptions. She explained these requests in terms I could not begin to understand. I could not get in any words in order to ask questions or make any explanations concerning requests I had already made of these doctors.

Great Migraine Dr, & Staff!
I've been a patient of theirs for several year, & Have recommended them to several people, including my roommate! I'm in there about every 12wks for my b otox, & about 2-3 times/yr for post-injection follow-up appts. Even during the Covid lock-down, the staff has been wonderful & very patient with me! (Thank Goodness!) I would be more than a little upset if I ever have to change my migraine specialist! My only sad thing, is that they've discontinued the telemed follow-up appts, & will now only be doing all appts in-person. (Yeah, I know. If this is the biggest problem in my life, I've got it pretty good.)

They left me in a medical crisis
My first appointment w Summit neurology I saw the PA. We discussed my care plan and I left pleased. After months of asking them to write an agreed upon prescription to prevent my abdominal migraines, they casually said they in fact would not give me the prescription in my agreed upon care plan. They had the secretary call me, pretty lame. The doc did finally call me and after our conversation, I would advise anyone to steer clear of this practice. I am still suffering from their lack of care. See them at your own risk.

I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Millen. I would highly recommend Summit Headache. Having suffered migraines most of my life, I was referred to Dr. Millen. I have had the most success in treatment with this office. They listen to you. She and the rest of the providers truly care about you as a patient and are very knowledgeable and up to date on treatments. They want you to get better!

Dr Mikken has provided me with superior care and followup care. At a point I became frustrated and I became frusatrated. Her and her staff stood by me and corrected me on my bad attitude. I have come to respect this practice and I trust them unequally

I was referred to Dr. Cori Millen by another Neuroscience doctor, he told me Dr. Millen is the best in the business for headache pain care. I was able to schedule an appointment the following week and since then I have been receiving the best care for my headache pain. My experience with doctor Millen is all hands on, she explains what my diagnosis is and how she plans to treat it. Dr. Millen makes me feel informed and cared for she IS the best and her staff is every bit as good.

I have been a patient of Dr. Millen for several years. She is an excellent neurologist that treats headache disorders. She is very knowledgeable and a great listener. She really cares that her patients feel better and improve their quality of life. She and her team work tirelessly to help the patient navigate the complexities of their medical insurances. I am impressed that Dr. Millen is also extremely responsive to questions and her online patient portal is very effective. I highly recommend!!

I just read prior reviews from patients who have seen Dr. Millen and her staff. I am surprised by some of the negative comments as I have probably seen Dr, Millen or the PA at least 16 times. There have times that my symptoms did meet the norm and Dr. Millen would adjust my medications until we found something that worked and I could tolerate without too many side effects. It hasn't been an easy road, and I am very thankful that I was referred to Dr. Millen. She has help me immensely

I saw the doctor, briefly, once. Otherwise, I've only ever seen the PA, Ashley. Ashley knows migraines when they fit the typical patterns, but wasn't responsive or didn't know what to do when I had a bad medication reaction, and isn't responsive when I'm having atypical symptoms. The doctor should be stepping in, and she isn't. When the waiting room is empty and the doctor is nowhere to be seen, there's something wrong with a practice.

I never see the doctor, only her PA's. In total in the five times I've been in for appointments, I think Dr. Millen's spent about 8 minutes with me. They never seem to call in prescriptions in a timely fashion or get them right, they don't answer messages, and overall the office is run in a totally disorganized fashion. I not sure what the problem behind it all is. If you have a chronic illness, don't expect to be treated as if anyone there actually cares.
