Revoke his license
I can’t believe this man is allowed to practice medicine at any hospital. Disgustingly unprofessional and a complete lack of compassion for his patients. Didn’t answer any of my mother’s questions when she was in the ER, instead insisting that he’s “not God” and didn’t have the answers. He proceeded to scare her by telling her she may have to live with this condition forever, without even elaborating on the cause or any solutions. He also shared that he was at the bottom of his class in medical school, which is apparent, but completely unprofessional to share with a patient. I’m so disgusted that Viera Hospital is letting this man practice and he needs to be investigated and have his license revoked!

Walks around the ER with his hand in his white jacket pocket. Does NOT listen to patients, but depends on his own personal thought because it is superior to anyone. Lies about his interaction with other health care personnel.

Horrible!
I saw Dr Alvarez in August of 2023 in the ER at Viera hospital. My symptoms were severe fatigue, just tightness and pressure, nausea, and shortness of breath. His first words to me when he entered the room was not how are you, when did this start, how long has this been going on, but his first words were people who present with your types of symptoms usually leave the ER upset because they do not get the answers they are searching for. This is an emergency room. My son is a paramedic and insisted that I go to the ER and I was well aware that I might not get a diagnosis but I at least expected treatment of some type to rule out an emergency. I basically had to insist on a chest CT and thank God that I did because it showed an enlarged heart and possible copd. Now here is the shocking part Dr Alvarez did not inform me that I had an enlarged heart. He is cocky and arrogant and thank God I advocated for myself. My son is the one who informed me of how serious my CT CAT scan results were.

Best Ever
Dr Cory Alvarez is very highly regarded by his colleagues at Viera Hospital ER, he treats them well and has an exceptional bedside manner. He was my physician in the ER and was most accommodating, provided excellent care plus he completed an important document I needed to cancel an upcoming cruise. Very kind and caring all the time smiling, he made my day! Consider yourself fortunate if you receive treatment from Dr Cory Alvarez, he is like a ray of sunshine and you can count on receiving the best care ever, that's just who he is!

My wife and I had the pleasure of calling 911 today after she remained in a sustained a-fib. Granted she has a history of paroxysmal a-fib, it has never lasted more than an hour or so. In addition she was symptomatic which was also new...Exertional shortness of breath, diaphoresis, hypotension, dizziness, and near syncope. After waiting an extended amount of time, per her request, I called 911 as I was not sure we could make it to the car without incident. She arrived to encounter one dr. alvarez. He never listened to what happened or why we were there, by either of us, and went as far as to misdiagnose her visit status and condescend on her discharge papers. He is not a credit to your organization, or any other medical establishment, and I will take this as far as it needs to go to see him reprimanded for lack of compassion, empathy, and being judgmental. Next will be a formal complaint to the state as of tomorrow 06/23/2019.

Mr Alvarez was extremely creepy and really seems as if he is underprepared and undereducated as was confirmed by his lack of knowledge and degree from a terrible Caribbean "medical" school. I would not trust this Dr with my family's health.

Unfortunately we did not see eye to eye on my condition or treatment, which is okay, however the manner in which Dr. Alvarez presented himself was shameful to say the least. People like him should not join the medical practice. If you are not compassionate enough to listen to your patients then being a doctor suites you poorly. A hot head and better than the rest attitude makes for a horrible physician.
