Dysfunctional doctor's office
I went to Dr. Risk for 5 or 6 years. No doubt He's a smart man and knows what he's doing. But getting Dr. Risk to do what you want, and need is next to impossible. Once you leave his office if everything isn't right as it should be, you're in for multiple follow up calls and even a visit to get things right. A simple prescription refill took me one month before Dr. Risk took the time to get it right with the pharmacist. On another occasion I needed a new CPap machine which requires compliance documentation and other paperwork required by the insurance carrier. This experience has been a nightmare. It took 4 months, and more than a dozen calls to the doctor's office and insurance companies to get the paperwork filled out correctly. I believe the problem lies with Dr. Risk and not his staff. It's time for him to retire. He clearly can't keep up with the demands of his patients.

Not very good. He doesn’t give or send prescriptions to the correct drugstore. There are only certain hours one can call. He doesn’t return calls. He doesn’t follow up on a timely manner either.

Front desk staff are completely incompetent
Dr. Risk's administrative staff are so bad that you should avoid the office entirely. Three weeks after my appointment, when Dr. Risk determined I needed to be assessed for narcolepsy (requiring a sleep study and a nap study the following day) I called to follow up about scheduling. I got scolded by the front desk who told that this was a slow process and that they would reach out to me. However, they were sure it would be in May. Another 3 weeks go by, it is mid-May, and I call the office again. 6 weeks after my appointment. The front desk informed me that she had lost my forms in a stack of papers and forgotten about scheduling my sleep study. Oops! The soonest time available would now be in late June. I asked to clarify - is this at least for a sleep study and a nap study, like Dr. Risk ordered? No, it was not. She told me she would call me back later that day, or the next day to schedule it. I never got the call. These people don't care about you, your health, or your time.

Terrible bedside manner. They have their call center turned on continuously and do not respond efficiently in regards to emergency supply requests for records or CPAP therapy.

My PCP for 22 years. Dr.Risk has always made time to address any medical concerns and questions. He is a brilliant doctor and very dedicated. The office staff is extremely helpful. He is very worth the wait. I typically call ahead to ask if he is running behind so the wait is not an issue. He does not rush his patients & has incredible bedside manner.

Dr. Risk himself is great. I wish I could say the same about his staff. Scheduling gets messed up. One of his staff members is good but the other one will probably be the reason if he loses patients. I don’t understand why he has two people running the front desk, the one with the straight hair is the only one I ever see actually working. The office waiting was in the past 45 minutes or more of waiting after your appointment time. He has corrected this issue. Now he is on time for appointments.

One of the most knowledgeable and kind doctors my family has known . He always takes the time to educate and explain all things which often gets waiting room patients upset until it’s there time .. then they come out saying he is such a great doc! I will miss him greatly as well as my other family members who are his patient.. he will not be easily replaced !

I love Dr. Risk. He is so kind and warm, and funny, too! But the main thing, of course, is that he's a super doctor. It's amazing how much he knows about so many things! And he has helped me a lot. I guess that's the bottom line. He's the best doctor I've ever had.

This man has no bedside manner and is less than considerate when speaking to his patients. I sincerely question his level of care versus his desire to make money.

The best doctor I've ever had. Twice he saved my wife's life. Incredible diagnostician. His staff is great, and when you call his office a real person answers the phone, not a recording. You don't get lost in voice mail hell.
