Dr. Clarence Lin, MD

Dr Lin spent his time talking with me, answering any questions I had, did phenomenal with my surgery, recovery was great, I would recommend him to anyone and everyone! He was an amazing dr!!

I’ve never had a doctor spend so much time explaining things and making someone feel comfortable about their surgery as he has. My son has never had a stomach surgery before, and he was terrified about what was going on with him inside, and the surgery that he needed. Dr. Lynn took the time to explain everything step-by-step to him, and to relieve any fears that he had. He’s a very caring Doctor.

I was extremely fortunate to come under Dr. Clarence Lin's care in an emergency visit to St. Clair Hospital in November, wherein he later removed my gallbladder. His bedside manner was calming, reassuring and compassionate, and immediately alleviated my considerable fear and stress. He readily addressed all of my questions and concerns with concise and understandable explanations. He phoned my husband at each visit to my bedside, to update him personally and answer his questions. He spent as much time with me as I needed, never seeming rushed or preoccupied; his sole focus was on me. The surgery went very well, with very little pain, and I was recovering at home in just a few days. Dr. Lin is wonderful; I'd give him 10 stars if I could! (I'm a retired R.N., and know a great physician when I see one).

My husband went to St. Clair Hospital ER on a Sunday afternoon with excruciating pain near his abdomen. He was quickly diagnosed with appendicitis. Because his surgery was an emergency, we were unable to “study up” on the various physicians and we were told that Dr. Lin was available. I quickly looked up his impressive credentials and glowing reviews which put my mind at ease. After the surgery when I met with him I was so grateful for his kind, thorough and reassuring manner. He even gave me his cell phone number in case we had any questions for him. We didn’t choose Dr. Lin that Sunday afternoon but I feel as though we hit the physician lottery. He may be the kindest physician we have ever encountered. When we met with him the day after surgery and expressed our gratitude that he performed the operation on a Sunday afternoon, he said “It is my duty to my community.” Dr. Lin is a gentleman and a top notch surgeon. We are beyond grateful.

Dr Lin performed my emergency appendectomy. Not only did he do a wonderful job removing my appendix. He also went above and beyond before and after the procedure. Before he kindly took the time to offer his professional opinion and explain the surgery. Afterwards he gave me his personal phone number in case of emergency and filed all the paper work I need for work in a timely manner. I highly recommend Dr Lin. Great surgeon and a great man.

Dr Lin was recommend by my primary after finding a painful bulge above my C-section scar. Dr Lin understood that being able to workout without pain was important to me. He also discovered an umbilical hernia that he felt he could repair in conjunction . Surgery itself was a few hours and the recovery took several days. Dr Lin texted me personally to check in on me a few days post surgery and I was back in office to see him a week later. While I found him attentive from the start, he was very seriously interested in my feedback on how he could improve his process or communcition. I told him it hadn’t been clear to me a nerve block would be placed in my abdomen. He took the comment to heart and said he will make sure to tell patients exactly what that entails in the future. Bottom line, my stomach feels better and he was an excellent, empathetic surgeon with his patients interests at heart.

My visit to Dr Lin was predicated by me making a visit to the emergency room at St Clairs Hospital for pain associated with a inguinal hernia. At my appointment with Dr Lin, he was very attentive to my symptoms and thoughts regarding surgery. He allowed me to make the decision after fully informing me of the surgical process and possible post operative results. Because of his passion and confidence in conducting robotic surgery I was totally convinced that he was the surgeon that I wanted to perform it. 2 days later Dr Lin performed the surgery which was very successful. I can’t tell you how much better I feel after the surgery. I had the hernia for 10 years or more and was always afraid of having surgery to fix it after hearing all the horror stories about it. I highly recommend Dr Lin to anyone who’s dealing with a hernia that needs to be repaired. This type of surgery will definitely change your life for the better. Dr Lin is truly a gifted surgeon.

My son had an appendectomy performed by Dr. Lin at St Clair Hospital. We went to the hospital around 6pm and had the procedure by 11pm. Dr. Lin was wonderful and explained the process very clearly. Because it was done during the covid pandemic I was not permitted to stay with my son and Dr. Lin kept me in the loop as soon as the procedure was over. His professional and caring manner really put a worried mom at ease.

Dr. Lin performed my appendectomy and I cannot give him any higher praise. He was first class all the way. He explained everything so clearly prior to the surgery, was able to keep things light, and laid out the entire scenario. The surgery was quick and I was walking out of the hospital about 3-4 hours after it was over because I was feeling so well. Dr. Lin gave me a direct cell number to call him in case I had any issues and encouraged me to contact him some time after the surgery before we met for my in-person follow-up. I did so, and he told me to call or text him with any questions or concerns, no matter what it was. I had a follow-up with him a few weeks after and he cleared me for all activities and told me to please let him know if I ever needed anything. Dr. Lin is hands down the best doctor I've ever encountered. I cannot recommend him any more highly.
