Did not work for me
Dr. Pouncey and I were never a good fit, even though I didn't realize it for a long time. She didn't look like she was fully present in our meetings. I did not believe that she was genuinely engaged and sincere. Additionally, her bedside manners are unnecessarily brusque. After working with another specialist and from a distance, I can see that I was pointlessly tense as a patient. I discovered that there are more effective methods for explaining, listening, and involving patients in their treatment. I should mention, for the sake of fairness in my review, that maybe I had the specialist that I (as a patient) deserved: I didn't "request" enough, I didn't ask the right questions, I did not know how to deal with her manners. Yet, I think a mental health professional should know how to inspire a patient.

I find Dr. Pouncey professional, compassionate and has a great foundation on medications. She is able to succinctly problem solve with me episodes that are anxiety provoking or effect my mood. Her assistant Jody is flexible, kind and helps greatly in re scheduling and reassurance.

Dr. Pouncey was recommended by my dietician because of her experience with Eating Disorders. She is out of network, but worth every penny I pay out of pocket. She listens to the patient, does not rush the quarterly visits, is thorough & is quick to respond any time I've left a message. When I first saw her she recommended a DNA test to check to see what medications would best react to my body. That alone saved months of trial & error. I was impressed! Her assistant Jodi is fantastic as well

Dr Pouncy saved my life literally. I went to her as my final attempt to get help from debilitating abrupt onset depression. After several failed attempts with other psychiatrists I was more hopeless and on to many meds. I immediately felt comfortable with Dr pouncy and she immediately eased my fears and immediately knew my condition was medical underneath and started the process of helping me get diagnosed and treatment...I highly recommend Dr Pouncy
