Dr. Saigal is extremely competent and experienced, one of the best urologists in the world. When I was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2016, the first doctor X I saw told me after reviewing all my MRI images that I was in a later cancer stage and that I would have about 8 years of life left. He suggested I start with chemo therapy before surgery. I went to Dr. Saigal for second opinion. After an overall assessment of my medical and health conditions, he performed a comprehensive treatment that had the following critical components: No immediate chemo before the radical nephrectomy operation Surgery included a standby GI surgeon in case cancer had spread to intestines. A nearly perfect execution of the surgery spared me with the need of blood transfusion. Today I am alive and well. This is because Dr. Saigal’s impeccable work for me eight years ago avoided all possible immediate or long term damages/side effects. He is a doctor we can trust, without a doubt, without any non-sense. Thank you again Dr. Saigal!

Recent experience
I recently had an aquablation for BPH by Dr Saigal. I really liked that he told me exactly what to expect in my surgery and recovery. Even prior in my visits to his office, I found his staff very friendly and accommodating. His office really run like clockwork, always seen on time or even earlier. I could not be more happy with him as my doctor.

Having seen Dr. Saigal multiple times, I’ve come to a fairly easy conclusion that he is unprofessional, has poor communication skills and is always in a hurry. As a woman, I don’t feel comfortable being around him.

Avoid Dr. Saigal
I do not recommend Dr. Saigal. I’ve been a patient of his since 2006. I had one minor urological issue (non bacterial prostatitis) and it’s come and gone over the years. I was never fond of his bedside manner. He’s condescending and dismissive. However I didn’t feel I really needed to like my doctor as long as I’m getting proper treatment. There’s not a whole lot you can do for non bacterial prostatitis. So he really didn’t have much room to make a mistake. In recent years, I’ve had a more serious urological issue. I have a blockage issue that requires a turp. He misdiagnosed me. I sought out a second opinion at Cedars. The Cedars doctor was correct in his diagnosis and proper testing confirmed his diagnosis. Please do yourself a favor and seek other care for urology. He is extremely unprofessional and a terrible communicator. If you want to stay in the ucla network there are plenty of good urologists. I highly recommend staying away from Chris Saigal’s care.

Dr. Saigal diagnosed my prostate cancer in March 2020 and, due to a high Gleason score, recommended early treatment. He took the time to fully explain the surgical and radiation options and referred me to a radiologist to further discuss radiation/hormone treatment. I ultimately decided on radical prostatectomy surgery, carried out by Dr. Saigal. The results have been excellent, with no complications, or incontinence issues. My recovery was fast and I was able to resume my normal lifestyle a week later, after removal of the catheter. I was back to a full/strenuous exercise routine within 4-6 weeks. After 4-months my PSA level is still zero. I found the level-of-care to be excellent throughout.

His patients skills are poor. He does not listen or care about you as a person. In my opinion, he is not a true doctor. He is just another technician. Maybe he is a good technician ??? I don't know. He made me feel like I was just a number on a chart.

Dr Christopher Saigal did my prostate surgery on 02-01-2016 and the out come is excellent. today 05-08-2017 I have no urine retention problems and all the functions are working to its best. I know many who have prostate surgery and end up with problems of ejaculation etc. But thanks much to the Creator of heavens & earth and the Dr. Christopher Saigal, I have No Problems.

Dr. Saigal performed a radical cystectomtY on me on July 18, 2008. He is a gifted, caring & extremely thorough surgeon. He can be very blunt, but I got along well, and appreciated his Honshu. The procedure was very successful, and I live my life mostly as if there had never been a problem.
