Dr. Pokabla is definitely efficient in his care and knowledge. My shoulder surgery went great and has healed very well. Not a great bedside manner and very quick in his visit. If you have questions, you have to ask quickly.

Dr Pokabla performed my rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder. Chris and his team are top notch and I would recommend them to anyone. Not only did they do an incredible job on my surgery, but it was so good that my recovery was much faster than anticipated. I was back in the gym and playing sports full swing just six months later. Then within 6 months, just a year removed from surgery I was able to prep for and ultimately win the TN State body building championships for my division. He was very confident about my surgery and stayed consistent with thorough follow ups during my entire post op check ins. Very appreciative for Chris and his team. Full mobility in my shoulder and no pain or discomfort as I enjoy normal daily activities. Five stars from me and fully recommend.

Dr. Pokabla did a Reverse Shoulder Replacement on my right shoulder. Its was a Workman Compensation injury. I was impressed with the fact that Dr. Pokabla was focused on my recovery and progress regardless of the time it took setting me at ease for fear I would be rushed through this process since it was a Workman Compensation case. The staff at the Bartlett facility were very professional and friendly, during my appointments I was never in the waiting room no longerthan 15 minutes. Very positive experience.

I had shoulder surgery (MDI) 6 months ago and have been so pleased with my results & progress. I am back and BETTER than I was before. Dr. Pokabla was informative and answered all of my questions and went above and beyond.

Dr. Pokabla repaired 3 torn muscles in my left shoulder rotator cuff. He used a new procedure ( it involved a metal type mesh that holds the muscles together) and I was the 1st he used it on. It worked really great. My arm is back to full functionality. The surgery was August 30th and I had full range by December. I am still rebuilding my strength in that shoulder, but I am pain free.

It has been six weeks since surgery. It was a large tear but Dr. Pokabla did arthroscopic repair. I could not see any sutures through the tape. When it finally came off I was amazed. There were no visible suture marks and no sign of a scar. If you saw me walking down the beach you would never know I had surgery. I saw Dr. Pokabla this week and I am 100% free of the arm brace and off to PT. He is an amazing surgeon and down to earth good person. Highly recommend his services.

I have to state up front that I am very happy with the results of my rotator cuff surgery performed by Dr. Pokabla. It got to the point that I couldn't even lift my arm up before surgery but now, I have no problems whatsoever raising my arm and moving it in all directions. All this only 3 months post surgery. He said the torn tendon had atrophied but he reattached it anyway. I'm sure glad he did. The surgery along with physical therapy has be back to full motion and activities. At 49, after years of injuries, I finally opted for total shoulder replacement in March 2024 due to worsening pain. Dr. Christopher Pokabla diagnosed arthritis, a SLAP tear, and other issues, making me a candidate for an anatomical replacement. Surgery went smoothly, and I managed post-op pain with minimal meds.Recovery involved six weeks in a sling, but I stayed active, focusing on leg workouts and even started running after four weeks. Physical therapy with Mackenzie Bennett was intense but effective, and after a couple months, I transitioned to strength training at home.By six months, I benched 70 lb dumbbells for 12; at 10 months, I hit the 80s for 8. Shoulder presses took longer but I'm now using 60s for 12. Chin-ups are good to go. My range of motion is still improving, but I’m thrilled with the outcome.I’ll likely need my other shoulder replaced but have no hesitation. Thanks to Dr. Pokabla and Mackenzie Bennett, I can lift for life without worrying about my shoulder.

Excellent surgeon. Entire staff is very professional. Unlike many doctor appointments, they are punctual. I never felt like just a number on a chart. My recovery is great after 4 months. If you are considering anything related to the shoulder, I would highly recommend Chris and his staff!
