Dr. Christopher Hummel, DO

My experience with this doctor was awful. When we first when in to meet with him he basically said my mom had cancer and it was not curable. He had horrible bedside manner and hardly spoke to us. When we asked him questions he had no real answers. In face he had not even looked at the scans before he came in the room. We have seen other doctors at cancer hematology and they are so much better. We have been to U of M and Beaumont in Royal Oak. All of these doctors are far better than Hummel. Save your time and see someone else because we wasted time staying with him.

Dr. Christopher Hummel is kind & an excellent surgeon. He genuinely cares about his patients. They were able to get me in for an appointment with him quickly & also schedule my surgery quickly. On the first visit, when I was so scared about a recently discovered ovarian mass, he spent a lot of time with me, going over concerns & treatment options & risks, & he was honest with me about things they did not yet know about my case. I told him that I appreciated his honesty, even with a difficult situation. He is quiet & soft-spoken & kind & courteous, also detail oriented & thorough, this is exactly what you need in your gynecologic oncologist. He gave me an absolute excellent surgery with a great outcome. He was the best possible surgeon for me. I highly recommend Dr. Christopher Hummel

He is excellent. Gives you all the time you need to ask questions and he answers them honestly. He is a skilled surgeon and very knowledgeable. I trust him.

I was told on Sunday I need to be seen asap. They had me an appointment by Thursday and he said the faster I had surgery the better as I was in the early stages of ovarian cancer. Had my surgery the next Tuesday. He was great at answer all our question and took the time. Did not rush. This so explained long wait times as if he this way with all his patients I understand how he could get behind.

He was not as personable as I would have liked but a very good practitioner and surgeon. He did warm up after a few visits. Realistic expectations.

The speed with which I was able to get my appointment was incredible! Everyone in the office was kind and very understanding with my situation and the speed in which I needed help. I can't ask for more!

Dr. Hummel is a very kind,compassionate doctor with very good instincts. He is thorough and transparent. I appreciate those qualities very much. I feel his knowledge of his field is excellent.

Dr. Hummel is excellent. He explains thing well, takes time to allow for questions. Would highly recommend him.

Provider was callous, presumptuous and harsh. He started the consultation In a rushed and brash tone. First stating that my case was relatively simple. Then upon hearing some of my preferences openly stated that he would fight against my preference. Reversing his first stance and now only listing horrible risks and outcomes. He instilled fear and anxiety in order to promote his preference.
