Love Dr Highfill
I went in at the lowest point. I fell at work and broke both wrists, nose and fractured knee cap. He was very kind and told me he would put me back together as much as possible. He was funny and made me laugh. Surgery on the wrist went well. Still a patient now to fix my fingers from the fall. I love him and the radiologist Crystal. They made me feel better in my worst moments. I highly recommend this Dr and practice. Dr Highfill is a good Dr and cares about you. I can’t understand the neg ratings here. It’s not the same doctor I see in this office.

Broken leg...no problem!
I was traumatized before surgery, he was calm and reassuring. The follow-up office visit presented cheerful and competent staff. Dr. Highfill was thorough, answered all my questions and I am on the mend.

Arrogant
His arrogance got in the way of listening to questions and responding appropriately. His loud voice in the hallway also allowed for anyone to hear his conversations about patients behind closed doors.

Don't waste your time. Avoid at all costs!
I strongly advise all to avoid Dr. Highfill. He is rude, indifferent, arrogant, doesn't allow you to fully explain what is hurting or when it hurts, he rushes you along and offered no solutions. He didn't even say bye. I had no idea the appointment was over until the nurse came in to say I was free to go. You'll walk away with a printed piece of paper full of the same things you can easily find on Google. I will never set foot in that office again.

Absolute poor excuse for a doctor
Dr. Highfill is a medical gaslighter as he does not listen to his patients’ problems and instead gives them bad advice and sends them off. He is incredibly indifferent to the pain of his patients and embodies characteristics that one would hope to never see in a medical professional. I strongly advise anyone that actually wants help to pick a different doctor because they are not going to find that with him here.

Dr. Highfill is the reason people hate going to doctors. He was rude, arrogant, and didn't listen to what I had to say. He had nothing useful to suggest and I'm now left with the same pain I had and no treatment options. Don't waste your time like I did.

I wish I could leave a -10 star because I would! I went for my shoulder because it has been hurting for years, and recently gotten a lot worse. I have other chronic issues and take pain meds on a regular basis because I hurt all the time, and he made me feel horrible for it! He told me the only reason it hurt was because of my "old age", mind you im 38!!!! He gave me a steroid shot in my shoulder and it really hurt (he was very rough), so he said see you can't handle pain because of the meds you are on. He then asked why I had hip replacements, I explained to him I have had avascular necrosis since I was 14 and already had two hip replacements, and he said are you sure you had that because its so rare?? As if I didn't know what I've been thru the past 20 years of my life. Then he asked why I took blood pressure meds, I said because I have high blood pressure (duh), then he said well you need to loose weight!!! The nerve of that jerk!!! Never again!

My husband had surgery to fuse his ankle. Dr. Highfill is an excellent, caring surgeon. My husband has phobia to needles, he listened and accommodated his phobia. He spent time with us after the surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Highfill, he listens to his patients and is thorough and an excellent surgeon. I can’t believe the negative comments, he’s honest and trustworthy!

Dr. Highfill is a wonderful orthopaedic physician. He is very thorough, very thoughtful and very positively communicative when it comes to diagnosis and prognosis. He takes extra time to explain the nature and extent of the injury, the length of time to expect discomfort during healing and the amount of healing that will follow. He was recommended by the hospital after I had taken a nasty fall, and I am grateful they sent me to him. His office is in close proximity to the hospital, which made visits very easy. Thank you, Dr. Highfill!!!

I was referred to this “DR” so I didn’t have a choice but he was very rude, and sarcastic. He didn’t let me explain what was wrong or any of my concerns and I walked out with the same pain and problem I had when I walked in. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Unfortunately I have had to see Dr. Highfill for several injuries. From surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles, to multiple shoulder issues. He has always been polite, thorough and extremely knowledgeable. I could not be happier with him and his care.

My daughter severely broke her arm and required surgery mountain biking. Dr. Highfill was fantastic from the first time we saw him. He explained everything to me clearly and put her at ease during the entire process. He patiently answered our questions and each new visit he would normally bring something up that she had shared (i.e. she likes onion sandwiches) and that would disarm her anxiety. Hopefully we never have need for Dr. Highfill’s services again but if we do I will bring them here

I broke my humerus shaft being bucked off a horse. Dr. Highfill was professional, humble and personable. He had a sense of humor that many need in a time of uncertainty. He gave me both options for the repair of my arm and did not try and persuade me one way or the other. He was prompt to schedule surgery and warned me of any possibilities that may take place in surgery. Was personable in the office visit, pre-op and post-op.

He rapid fired his questions that half of them I never got to answer. His first questions, why do you feel you need to see an orthopedic surgeon?, Why did you need to go to an urgent care facility? I could not completely answer his questions without him interrupting me with a 2nd and 3rd question. I still never got to tell him what the referring doctor said. When I checked out they wanted me to make my 6 months follow-up, I didn't, apparently the pain in my bones don't qualify for care.

MRI came back showing I tore my ACL and meniscus and had to have surgery. While I was waking up from surgery he told my family the meniscus wasn't torn but it was worse then he expected. The nurse came out and told my family the patellar tendon was torn. During the follow up he I asked him about the patellar and he said my patellar tendon was fine. He said he didn't say it was worse then expected. he said he didn't work on my patellar. But the surgery center said he did. Complete liar

This doctor doesn't know what the heck he is talking about. He said my knee wasn't swollen when it is clear it is, (2x the other). He is an arrogant person who belittles everyone. Don't go to this doctor. I will never go thin again.
