Dr. Heller saved me from being paralyzed
April of 2008 I was taken to the Los Angeles, USC Hospital for numbness in my lower extremities, due to spinal stenosis and diagnosed with Cauda Equina Syndrome. All hopes were lost for me to go back to a normal life. I was 24 years, a healthy male with an overwoked body and specially back. My L4-L5 disc had ruptured into my spinal canal. Dr. Heller along with his team, performed spinal fusion on me and I was give another chance at life. Me and my family have been praying for him and his family ever since. He was such a gentleman and had an angelic smile and aura that assured I was going to be ok. The journey hasn't been easy, I owe my life and livelihood to him.

Dr. A. Chris Heller is an outstanding neurosurgeon. Having suffered significant permanent nerve damage throughout my torso during my military career decades ago, I’ve had need of a competent neurosurgeon frequently and for half of my life. Dr. Heller is as compassionate as he is capable. Following a delicate surgery to remove and replace an entire spinal cord stimulator system from my buttock to the base of my neck and down my spine, he stepped in when another doctor responsible for my care left me in need. Dr. Heller performed a brilliantly executed surgery and rushed to my need when another failed us both. My words are quite inadequate for performing the “surgery nobody else in Spokane wanted to try” so well and years of lasting relief since. The system Dr. Heller implanted lasted more than an entire year longer than any of four previous spinal cord stimulators I’d known and as well as any before it. I cannot more strenuously recommend Dr. A. Chris Heller in Spokane, WA.

Beyond excellent to superb. He explained my condition, how the surgery might help, did not push me at all in fact wanted me to take plenty of time to think about it. It is the best thing I have done for my body. I feel so fortunate to have had such a compassion, skilled surgeon. His bedside manner was also superb and he explained why I needed certain things and what time I needed to be in the hospital. I feel like being referred to him and his also compassion and caring staff that I am now enjoying a new body and no pain.

Dr. Heller is the most knowledgeable, professional, caring surgeon anyone could possible strive to emulate at his elite level. His bedside manner is unbelievable and beyond expectations! Dr. Heller took time from a previously scheduled engagement to just "check-up" on my care but was happy to be there for me and my family. The entire office staff and experience having brain surgery is something I would NEVER want to experience again, but if I did Dr. Heller is my guy. Sincerely, THANK YOU!

Dr. Heller was incredible. He is very knowledgable and explains things really well even if you don't ask. He is kind and patient but very efficient. I would recommend Dr. Heller to anyone who is searching for a neurosurgeon. I also did research for doctors in Seattle and Portland and I was extremely happy with going with Dr. Heller.

Within one week, both my husband and my aunt both had surgeries performed successfully by Dr. Heller. My husband required a cervical fusion C5,6&7. He is back to work, playing the sport he lives and is symptom-free. He is excellent at explaining your options and then helping you understand the procedure. We are very appreciative of the services he has provided my husband and my aunt.
