Incredibly qualified doctor in several fields
I was first treated by Dr. Burns in the ER due to a gallbladder emergency and initially thought "he's too young and friendly" to handle this, but I was wrong. All throughout surgery and follow-ups made me realize how lucky I was to have him as my doctor. Six months later I saw on the news that he was the lead doctor handling 17 car crash victims who had been seriously injured when a car crashed into the Apple store at the Hingham Derby Street Shoppes. We are lucky to have a doctor like him in our community.

Dr. Burns treated me at SSH, from the time he walked into the ED unit I was discharged a week later, he was nothing short of outstanding. I will not let anyone else to even come near me. There is so much more I could write, I just don't have the space here.

Dr Burns is a terrific surgeon. He has an excellent bedside manner and truly cares about his patients. I would highly recommend Dr Burns to anybody needing a competent surgeon.

Dr Burns was called in for an unexpected abdominal surgery. He was very good at explaining tests and scans and reassuring in his approach to treatment. He made a great effort to try treatment before surgery, but was vigilant in monitoring my condition. He went as far as to follow me to CT scan to be on top of new findings immediately.
