Do not give them the benefit of the doubt.
To make a long story short, many balls were dropped, stuff was missed and the practice made me feel like I didn’t matter. They drug test you at every appointment? (I switched providers (of course)) and they said that is not at ALL standard. Of course, I passed every drug test….but can you make your patients feel any more untrusted in their pregnancies? Advocated for needed tests, didn’t get them. Miscarried at home, wanted an ultrasound to confirm, wouldn’t give me one. Got HCG levels drawn and I was still pregnant (I lost one baby - it was a twin pregnancy) and when the office called they said “Well now you’re late for your prenatal appointments so I don’t know what you want to do about that.” Just…don’t give them the benefit of the doubt like I did after I read the reviews. Find a good provider who trusts you and understands you know your body the best.

Unprofessional
I originally became a patient of Dr. Owens. She left the practice and I decided to give Dr. Midkiff a chance. At my appointment I was rushed she did not seem interested in providing care and her goal was to convince me to remove my IUD so that my 33 geriatric uterus her words would be able to reproduce. I left and immediately called my boyfriend to tell him about the interaction. I told him I was happy I am me because she might have crushed someone else with such horrible bedside manners and harsh tone. Today I received a call from a bill collector from a charge from January 2024. I have not been serviced by them since that visit in 2022. Now I am disputing a charge I never should have had and the office is setup so you cannot speak to anyone directly. I should have left when Dr. Owens did.

Rude staff, unorganized, unhelpful
Was called by staff re: results and told I was scheduled for a procedure. Tech gave me the wrong information on the phone and even admitted she was making assumptions about why I needed a procedure. Cancelled due to scheduling conflict and called 3 times before anyone called me back to reschedule. I showed up on the agreed upon date and time and they didn’t even have me scheduled!!! The (what I imagine) was the office manager was rude, unhelpful, apologetic in an insincere way. The office has no electronic records and no way to communicate anything to a provider without ignorant staff answering questions incorrectly, requires appointment for things that could be cleared up in a 2 minute conversation, and staff is clearly unorganized and rude. Not sure I can trust them to provide my care in the future, especially if I need a procedure done. As a provider myself, I do hold them to a standard by which I operate, as they should, regardless of who they are providing care to. Deanna is great

Rude staff
I have been going to Dr. Midkiff's office for over ten years. The office has gone way down hill. First the reception staff, very rude, uncaring, takes multiple phone calls to get through to someone. Next, office manager took multiple days to return my phone call (had to leave messages) and was very unhelpful and unfriendly. Life happens, appointments get made MONTHS ahead and appointments get missed but that doesn't mean staff members need to be rude. If you are to 'short staffed' to do reminder calls, set up a texting service like everyone else does. Blaming it all on the patient is wrong when it goes both ways. Reading the other reviews I've seen it all adds up now. Dr. Midkiff has lost a patient along with the other woman in my family. Very disappointed in a doctors office that is just in it for the money.

Terrible Experience
It is nearly impossible to get ahold of any of the staff to have questions answered. Deanna Moorman has been great, but I will never come back to the office based on an experience with Dr. Midkiff. Dr. Midkiff did bloodwork testing for cancer when imaging showed I had a tumor in my ovary. I called the office to get my results and they would not release them to me. Then Dr. Midkiff waited a week and a half to tell me results. She made me come in for an office visit and delayed my whole treatment process. She had terrible bedside manners. Basically the appointment just consisted of her saying I have cancer and that she’s referring me to oncology…. I left aggravated and in tears. Not to mention I had weeks of anxiety with trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Would not recommend anyone to Dr. Midkiff.

Outsourced billing
Since they outsource their billing, you can't call the office to talk about your account. You have to call some other office who has to call another office, and the whole thing is a stupid mess. Also, their office employees aren't very polite. They know they're in control, and they make sure you know it, too. Why have receptionists turned into supreme beings who can't even smile?

Saw Dr. Deanna Moorman. She was incredibly nice and compassionate and understanding. Had an infection for awhile and couldn't figure out the probably. She did a couple of tests and provided medication to help with the infection. The medication worked immediately! I was also sent another medication with too high of a dosage and it caused me bad stomach pains - thought I was going to have to go to the hospital. Went to a doctors instead and was put on a liquid diet and probiotics. Also the bill for everything was sent and I cannot afford another appt anytime soon

Had a miscarriage and couldn’t get any information about what to do, if I needed a follow up visit, what was happening to my body, etc. It was a horrific experience and to not have any medical help from their office made it even worse. They never returned my calls and the answers to my questions sounded inconvenient for them to deal with.

I would go elsewhere especially if you are having serious problems. A nurse would not help me and told me to “buck it up” as if I haven’t been doing that already. That was almost as bad as the pain I feel. No compassion.

I love Dr. Midkiff she's a wonderful doctor and knows her stuff. The office staff is a different story. Can't get a hold of anyone to even make an appt. Literally can't get a single person to answer the phone no matter how many times or which extension you try. Extremely frustrating when you're pregnant and having issues. If she hadn't delivered my first I wouldn't be going back for my second. Office is horrible, Dr. Midkiff and the nurse practitioners are great.

Unable to speak to anyone about billing. Saw Midkiff once in 2017 tried to pay as I left, was told no charge "wellness exam" later rcvd a bill. Then got a no show fee for an appt I did not make. After months of calls trying to get the issue resolved, got fed up and paid both fees. I was offered a 'code' to make a new appt, I told the billing 'no thank you, I'll find a new doctor.' A year later I rcvd a call for an appt, again I did not make, called, left msg, again rcvd bill in the mail.

Absolutely would not recommend Dr Midkiff to anyone. She made me cry at my last appointment simply because I wanted to deliver at St Mary's hospital. She said that "going to St Mary's isn't convenient for anyone". She made me feel horrible for not wanting to deliver at Anderson because that's where it is convenient for her. If she doesn't want to go to st Mary's she shouldn't tell people she can go there. The office is extremely difficult to get ahold of and take hours to days to call you back.

Dr. Midkiff is very sweet and helpful herself, but everyone else that works at this office, and the ofallon office are very rude and make the visits uncomfortable and a dread to experience. at a gyenocologist you expect sweet understanding and helpful employees, but not here! have experienced this poor treatment for years and have finally decided to move on to somewhere comfortable and easy to work with
