I'm a 39 year old brain cancer patient who switched here after Brent Staton's office closed, this team has been wonderful, helpful, and patient with me when I show up the wrong day or do something similarly stupid. I've visited with two of the NP and the whole staff has been friendly and helpful, big thanks to Dr. Gentry and the team there! Sometimes the wait is 10 minutes but usually I'm seen right away, it's not a problem

He is caring, kind and thorough
I started out with the female nurse pract. as I wanted female. I went through 3 as, yes they change often. When the last was ill at my appointment I saw Dr Gentry and immediately changed to him. He takes so much time and is so thorough and caring. I am very happy with Dr. Gentry and have no plans to change.

Excellent Doctor
Dr. Gentry has been my doctor for years. Yes, sometimes the office is slow and you wait to see him. Yes, he has many provider changes in his office. However, if you want someone to listen to you, evaluate your health from a holistic perspective and give you one on one provider time - there is no one better than Dr. Gentry. He will help you with your medical needs and challenge you to address your medical health in a proactive manner. He will advocate for you with other providers, specialist, and your insurance company. He is also responsive to emergent needs. He has gone above and beyond with our families medical needs , multiple times.

My home-bound 94-year-old mother-in-law was experiencing severe hallucinations last Tuesday. Since this could potentially be a life-threatening situation (worsening of kidney disease, UTI, stroke, drug reaction) an in-home blood test and urine sample was ordered and performed on Wednesday. Thursday hallucinations continued but no lab results or phone call. Friday no lab results or phone call. Calls to the Dr office received no response. Now it is the weekend and still no lab reports. Monday will be five days since samples drawn. Does this look like an acceptable standard of care to you?

Dr Gentry is a very smart doctor but very scattered. I’ve been there for years for am ready to change due to his lack of being able to keep good NP’s.....they all leave and you’re left with his followers. I have a hard time getting anything done there and although they seemed concerned, they don’t follow up and he doesn’t bother with your concerns unless they fit his model of how he thinks you should be. He blames everything on the way the insurances have his hands tied and gets frustrated very easily. My first visit had a 5 hr wait and his excuse? He was on an emergency hospice home visit. So I let that go but expect a wait if you go here and the fact that your NP will most likely be gone in 6 months. That speaks volumes in itself

Told me to go to AA ( I don't drink) and sit down and shut up ! All because I disagreed with him. Once I drove all the way from Crossville to Cookeville only to find out that THEY had cancelled the appt. and called me 15 min before hand. I was already driving and didn't get the message till I got out... Drove all the way home in a very bad thunderstorm. No way to make friends and influence people.

He is kind and thorough. He doesn't rush you and listens to your concern. Sometimes I have to wait to see him but I know he is caring for another patient just as he will care for me. I trust him to always do what is best for me.

Does not listen to the patient. Does not explain things well. He is always questioning the conclusions of the specialist you have seen. Takes forever to get back to see him.

Dr Gentry is a good doctor but a bad manager Always wait at least an hour after making an appoontment, no matter what time of day. I have waited as much as 2 hours. The office is mismanaged and lax. They continually appoligize for mistakes, and then repeat them They seem to have issues with filling requests by fax from various pharmacies. Nothing has improved after many requests, office manager just gives me attitude when pressured. I'm sorry works.... Once!!
