Arrogant and has a temper. It seems like she should really retire, as she doesn’t have the professional acumen to be a psychiatrist.

Not only did she share personal stories during our first visit, she shared information about the person who had been in before me (which is a HIPAA violation). I mentioned multiple times that I’ve been seeing a therapist for 1.5 years and she never asked for their name, I offered it at the end. Tried to see her a second time since I started a new med and she left her phone at home, didn’t try to get in contact via email or any other means, never opened her door to see if it was locked. Absolutely do not recommend

Dr. Appel has been my doctor for a long time. She is amazing. She takes the time to get to know you. She is amazingly accessible. She cares deeply. She is knowledgeable and caring and open and wonderful.
